The educational technology company “Datorium” in cooperation with the Latvian Information and Communication Technology Association invites every girl from Latvia and Lithuania between the ages of 14 and 19 to take the first steps in the world of programming and learn the “Python” programming language.
The course is specially designed to help girls learn digital skills and programming in a friendly #girlsonly environment.
“Programming is becoming one of today’s basic skills and it is certainly not only for boys. We have created a special online programming course “PyGirls” only for girls aged 14-19. During four months, girls will learn “Python”, currently the most popular programming language, and will create their first applications.In addition to programming skills, girls will develop their logical thinking and learn modern digital tools to be able to effectively collaborate in the development and operation of their projects remotely in teams, as it happens in practice in the IT industry.” emphasized the head of “Datorium” Angela Jafarova.
Programming lessons will be held online on Tuesdays from 19.00 to 20.30 Classes will start on December 10 and will be held in English. The program includes 16 lessons in total. At the end of March 2025, the “PyGirls” hackathon will take place. All programming lessons will be recorded and available on the learning platform.
