How can users activate ‍the new voice message⁢ transcription ⁤feature in WhatsApp?⁢

**Interview with ⁣Bruno Cardoso on‌ WhatsApp’s New ⁣Voice Message Transcription Feature**

**Interviewer:** Welcome, ‍Bruno! Thank you for joining us today. As⁢ the‌ author of the recent article announcing WhatsApp’s new voice message transcription feature,⁤ can you start by explaining how this feature works?

**Bruno Cardoso:** Thank you for having me! The voice message⁣ transcription ‍feature allows users to convert audio ⁤messages received in WhatsApp into ‌text. This way, people who prefer reading or have difficulty listening to audio ⁤messages can ⁢still engage with the content. To use it, you first‌ need ‌to activate it manually in the settings.

**Interviewer:** ⁢Interesting! You mentioned that⁤ users ‌would need to activate this feature. Can‌ you walk us through that process?

**Bruno Cardoso:** Sure! Users can‍ activate the transcription feature by opening WhatsApp on their iPhone, tapping the “Settings” tab, and navigating to “Chats.”‌ From there, they will find the “Voice message transcription” option, which they need⁤ to enable. After that, they can choose the language for‌ the transcriptions—options include English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian, among others.

**Interviewer:** That’s great! How has⁢ the user response been⁢ so far to⁢ this new functionality?

**Bruno Cardoso:** The response has⁢ been very positive. Many users ⁢have expressed relief, especially those ⁣who dislike receiving audio messages or find them inconvenient. However, since this feature ⁢is rolling out gradually, ⁣not everyone has access ⁢to it yet. It’s exciting to know that it will reach more users soon.

**Interviewer:** What are some potential benefits of having this transcription ⁢feature in WhatsApp?

**Bruno Cardoso:** There ⁢are many benefits!‍ Firstly, it enhances ⁤accessibility for users who might ‌have‌ hearing difficulties. Secondly, ⁤it can save time for those ‌who ⁣want to quickly skim through messages instead of listening to long audio notes. ‌Lastly, it caters to multilingual users who may prefer reading in their native language.

**Interviewer:** That’s a comprehensive view!‌ Are there any limitations to what⁤ this feature can do?

**Bruno ‍Cardoso:**‌ Yes, as of‍ now, the feature only transcribes audio ⁣messages. If a user⁤ receives a voice call ⁣or‌ a regular phone call through‍ WhatsApp, those won’t be transcribed. Additionally, while ⁤it’s designed⁢ to handle different languages, the accuracy can vary based ⁣on the quality of the⁤ audio and the language used.

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Bruno, for those⁤ insights! Any⁤ final thoughts for our ‍viewers about this exciting new feature?

**Bruno Cardoso:** Just to remind everyone to keep their app updated and check the settings, as⁢ the feature is being rolled out slowly. I ‌believe this is a significant step for WhatsApp, and it will ⁣help improve the overall ‌user experience. Thanks again for having me!

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Bruno! We look forward to hearing more about future updates from WhatsApp.
