#BigBanga by Orange: Join the Instagram Freestyle Competition with Naid!

Welcome to #BigBanga by Orange: The Classy Competition

If you thought online talent competitions were done and dusted after two seasons, think again! The musical circus is back, and this time it’s all about Instagram, folks. Yes, you heard me right—Orange is bringing #BigBanga back with more pizzazz than a sequined jumpsuit at a disco. Let’s dive in!

What’s the Fuss About?

After wowing audiences in 2021 and 2022 with their mix of online and live performances, and a snazzy TV magazine in 2023, Orange has decided to turn the volume up to eleven. Their latest brainchild? A 100% social media challenge that promises to turn the spotlight on emerging artistic talents and big personalities, thanks to the collaboration with the artist Naid. Who knew Naid could be a game-changer when he was just hanging out in Instagram land?

Registrations and the Selection Drama

The drama began with registrations running from November 5 to November 10, 2024, on the @orangemayotte Instagram account. A whopping 52 brave souls threw their hats into the ring. That’s a lot of ambitious creativity, or perhaps just too many bored TikTok users seeking validation. Either way, the jury met from November 12 to 15 to sift through the competition. It’s like ‘The X Factor’ but with fewer sob stories and more social media savvy.

How Does It All Work?

Oh, it’s simple, really! The competition revolves around our good old friend, the freestyle. Contestants must produce an 80-second freestyle over an instrumental from Naid’s repertoire—but wait! The talented folks from Prod Big Banga will be there to clip it in reel format. A match made in Instagram heaven or a recipe for cringe? You judge!

Here’s how the contest really works:

  1. Contestants drop their freestyle clips, and it’s up to the audience to decide who’s got the chops. Public voting operates on the gloriously simple principle: 1 like = 1 vote. Not enough likes, you say? Well, shares, comments, and views can also propel you into stardom—or at least a fleeting moment of fame!
  2. The top two artists from this gladiatorial contest will win the right to perform live with Naid during his EP launch next December. Oh, did I mention there are prizes? Because who doesn’t love a good goody bag filled with promotional gear!

The Celebrity Jury

The jury is made up of a who’s who of social media stardom. Meet the heavyweights who’ll be deciding who deserves a shot at the spotlight:

  • Flamingo Santana (@flamingosantana) – Because every competition needs a flamboyant touch!
  • Inad IK (@inadikofficiel) – Bringing a taste of mischief and talent to the mix!
  • Porpoise (@marsouin_officiel) – Yes, that’s right, a porpoise. At least he’ll keep things aquatic.
  • Subo (@subo.skl) – The wildcard, ready to shake things up!
  • Faux Plan (@faux_plan976) – If you think this is the real deal, think again! (See what I did there?)
  • Nael Hassani (@_itss.nael.street._) – Just to ensure the competition stays on the right track.

And the Big Reveal!

Email is out, social media’s in! The contestants will be waiting with bated breath to hear the results of public voting, which will culminate on November 29. That’s when the online nerves will turn into pure excitement—or perhaps despair. Will they drown in likes or swim in indifference?

To be part of this audacious social event, simply hop on over to the Instagram accounts @bigbanga_mayotte and @orangemayotte to cast your votes. Because absolutely nothing says “modern talent show” like the fate of aspiring artists resting in the hands of social media algorithms!

So gear up and prepare to mingle with the next big stars in the world of freestyle art. Who will rise to glory, and who will fall flat on their face? Only time—and a decent Wi-Fi connection—will tell!

Following two successful seasons—both digital and live—between 2021 and 2022, in addition to a TV magazine launched in 2023, the #BigBanga competition by Orange is poised to make a dynamic comeback. This season introduces an innovative challenge that exclusively utilizes Instagram, thanks to a creative partnership with the vibrant artist Naid. The registration phase for aspiring participants occurred from November 5 to November 10, 2024, on the official @orangemayotte Instagram account, culminating in the validation of 52 enthusiastic candidates eager to showcase their talent.

Comprising members from Orange, Naid, and Prod Big Banga, the jury convened multiple times from November 12 to 15 to meticulously evaluate the submissions. Their task was to select 12 standout artists while officially confirming the registration of 6 contenders who will engage in a thrilling competition on the @bigbanga_mayotte platform from November 22 to 28, 2024.

The principle of the competition is as follows:

  1. Contestants are required to produce an original, 80-second freestyle over a specified instrumental track drawn from Naid’s collection, which Prod Big Banga will expertly transform into engaging reels format.
  2. Each freestyle clip will be put to a public vote: every single like translates to one vote, while shares, comments, and total views also factor into the results.
  3. The two artists delivering the finest performances will be granted the opportunity to perform live alongside Naid in a concert celebrating the release of his much-anticipated EP “Ololo” next December, and will also receive several exciting prizes contributed by both Orange and Naid.

Jury selection:

Flamingo Santana @flamingosantana

Inad IK @inadikofficiel

Porpoise @marsouin_officiel

Subo @subo.skl

Faux Plan @faux_plan976

Nael Hassani @_itss.nael.street._

Ultimately, it is the voices of the fans that will determine the fortunate winners of the #BigBanga by Orange competition, with results to be unveiled on November 29!
