That was not the case on Wednesday evening either, when two cars were involved in two different traffic accidents at opposite ends of North Jutland within a very short time.
In one case, slippery roads were most likely the cause of the accident. Here, a car skidded around a bend on Nordre Strandvej in Frederikshavn and crashed into a tree.
– We are quite sure that it is due to slippery roads, says chief of duty at North Jutland Police Jesper Sørensen.
When the police arrived at the scene of the accident, there were no people at the car, but shortly after the arrival of the patrol car, people came to the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.
The police received the report at 8:51 p.m.
Shortly afterwards, at 21:24, North Jutland Police received a report of another traffic accident – this time in Aars.
When Nordjyske spoke to the police, however, the accident was so new that the information the warden had about the accident was limited. However, he was able to state that it was a solo accident and that there was only one person in the car.
Whether the accident in Aars is also due to slippery roads is unclear, but regardless, the duty manager’s call is the same:
– I would encourage you to drive according to the conditions, says Jesper Sørensen.
Icy roads
The Road Directorate encourages the same. They write on X that you should be especially careful near bridges, in forested areas and in low-lying areas. The night offers both rain, sleet, frost and temperatures around the freezing point, they write.
The Road Directorate reports on Wednesday evening icy roads in places throughout North Jutland, with the exception of Vesthimmerland and Morsø Municipality.
The evening and night offer both rain, sleet and frost and with temperatures around the freezing point, so be aware and drive according to the conditions if you have to drive on the roads. Be especially careful near bridges, in forested areas and low-lying areas #dktrafikinfo

**Interview: Discussing Recent Traffic Accidents in North Jutland**
**Interviewer:** Welcome to our news segment. Today, we’re focusing on the recent traffic incidents in North Jutland. Joining us is Jesper Sørensen, the chief of duty at North Jutland Police. Jesper, thank you for being here.
**Jesper Sørensen:** Thank you for having me.
**Interviewer:** There were two separate accidents reported on Wednesday evening. Can you provide us with some details about what happened?
**Jesper Sørensen:** Yes, that’s correct. The first accident occurred on Nordre Strandvej in Frederikshavn, where a car skidded off the road and crashed into a tree. We believe that slippery road conditions were the primary cause of this incident. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
**Interviewer:** That’s a relief. What can you tell us about the circumstances surrounding the crash?
**Jesper Sørensen:** When the police arrived, there were no occupants in the car, but shortly after, individuals arrived at the scene. We were alerted to the accident at 8:51 PM. The conditions were quite poor, likely due to rain leading to slippery surfaces, which we suspect contributed to the loss of control.
**Interviewer:** I see. And what about the second accident reported shortly after?
**Jesper Sørensen:** The second accident occurred around 21:24 in Aars. At this point, details are limited since it happened relatively recently, and our officers are still gathering information. We can confirm that our priority is to ensure that those involved receive any necessary assistance and that we fully understand the circumstances.
**Interviewer:** It sounds like the police are on top of it. What advice would you give to drivers, especially during this season with potentially slippery roads?
**Jesper Sørensen:** I would urge all drivers to exercise caution, especially when weather conditions are less than ideal. Reducing speed and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles can prevent accidents. We all share the road, and safety should be everyone’s priority.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Jesper, for sharing this important information. We appreciate your insights.
**Jesper Sørensen:** Thank you for having me. Stay safe out there.
**Interviewer:** That was Jesper Sørensen from the North Jutland Police, discussing the recent traffic incidents in the area. For more updates, stay tuned.
