Published IN the Gerard Lounge: A Tasty Twist on Cocktails
As we inch closer to the festive season—where calories don’t count, or so we tell ourselves—Vancouver is bracing itself for a cocktail extravaganza! On November 25th and 26th, the acclaimed Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar and Published on Main are rolling out the red carpet for you, yes you, dear cocktail lover, to dive into a sensational culinary experience aptly titled Published IN the Gerard Lounge.
What’s on the Menu?
Picture this: a cozy ambiance in the historic Gerard Lounge—a venue so comfortable that you might just want to move in! Attendees will get the chance to sample tantalizing delights from the seasonal menu, the ‘Butterfly Effect.’ A cocktail menu built around personal journeys that might just make you reconsider your choices in life! “What if I had pursued my dream of becoming a professional cat groomer?” That alternate universe will still have to wait—let’s focus on cocktails!
And do they deliver? Absolutely! Under the skilled eye of Joe Casson, Beverage Director at Published on Main, this innovative concept will have you sipping cocktails that are practically stories in a glass. Because, you know, most people just tell their life stories over a drink like regular folks rather than turning them into mixed beverages!
The Cocktails to Watch For
Hold onto your drink umbrellas because the menu will feature unique creations like the Kaleidoscope—a champagne cocktail made by the whole team! It includes full-bodied Flor De Caῆa 18, cinnamon lemon oleo (some fancy syrup), chocolate bitters, Ruinart Brut, and bergamot—yep, it has more ingredients than my last relationship!
And if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can’t miss the American Dream, crafted by team member Lacey Roberts, celebrating her Midwestern roots. It’s a whisky cocktail that’s sweeter than your family’s Thanksgiving pie, made using Michter’s American Whisky, sweet corn, and other such delights that’ll call your heart home.
Who’s Inviting You?
The masterminds behind this cocktail magic—Cody Allmin, Co-Founder of Published on Main, and Lisa Haley, General Manager at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar—are practically giddy about this collaboration. Between juggling craft cocktails and high hopes, they’ve merely noted how keen they are to blow your minds (and perhaps your tastebuds) with incredible concoctions. Don’t you just love it when chefs get excited? It’s almost as thrilling as finding out a celebrity has an embarrassing hobby!
