David Ross Ricci, Radio Pioneer and Voice of Skeletor, Passes Away at 78

David Ross Ricci, a cherished resident of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and his devoted caregivers. Born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, he was the son of Norman and Lillian Ricci, who instilled in him a passion for creativity and storytelling.
David embarked on his illustrious professional journey in radio back in 1961, where he had the unique opportunity to operate the control board for renowned disc jockey Alan Freed at the iconic radio station KDAY in Los Angeles, California. Throughout the early 1970s, he partnered with the legendary Wolf Man Jack on their groundbreaking venture, Border Blasters, which enabled them to reach an audience spanning more than half of the United States and up into Mexico, solidifying their place in broadcasting history.
Perhaps his most notable achievement came as the original voice of Skeletor in the beloved He-Man series, a role that left a lasting impact on the world of animation and garnered him a devoted fan base. After leaving his mark in both radio and voice acting, David pursued a new adventure by purchasing a semi-truck, relishing the freedom of the open road as he traveled across the United States.
In 2004, he entered into a joyful marriage with Judy Scott Ricci, the love of his life. Their union was filled with joy as they navigated the laughter and challenges of life together for 20 beautiful years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judy, as well as his daughter, Ashlee, son, David, and grandchildren, Justen and Ariana, all of whom reside in Los Angeles, California.
