The Koloma Soloprimo district, in the commune of Ratoma, is plunged into fear after a kidnapping that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 19. According to witnesses, Alhassane Diallo, a well-known economic operator in the community, was kidnapped by armed men as he returned from 7 p.m. prayers.
According to testimonies, the kidnappers, who were waiting in a car parked near the “La Plume” school, intercepted Alhassane Diallo near his home. Faced with resistance from residents, they fired several shots into the air to disperse the crowd before fleeing with their victim.
“In a desperate attempt to stop them, two local bikers gave chase. Tragically, one of them, Mamadou Adama Tangan, was shot dead by the kidnappers. Her body was transported to the mother and child health center for further formalities. The second biker was shot in the foot and is currently under medical care,” said a witness.
This act took place while the Koloma Soloprimo district was plunged into darkness due to the breakdown of a transformer the day before. This situation of total darkness would have facilitated the criminals’ operation.
The police, quickly deployed to the scene, endeavored to secure the operator’s family. However, no information on the identity or motivations of the kidnappers has yet been released.
This drama once again revives the debate on insecurity in the capital, where kidnappings are becoming more and more recurrent.
