What strategies did you and your team implement to maintain an undefeated season in district play?
**Interview with Liam Standridge, Star Running Back of the Oglesby Junior High Tigers**
**Editor:** Liam, congratulations on the big win against the Evant Elks! How does it feel to bring home the district 14A championship trophy?
**Liam Standridge:** Thank you! It feels amazing. We all worked really hard this season, and being able to finish undefeated in district play is something we’ve been dreaming about. Winning the championship just makes it that much sweeter.
**Editor:** You had a standout performance, scoring two touchdowns and rushing for 81 yards. What was going through your mind during the game?
**Liam Standridge:** I just focused on doing my job and helping the team. My offensive line did a fantastic job creating holes, and I was just eager to capitalize on those opportunities. Each time I touched the ball, I aimed to make the most of it.
**Editor:** Your first touchdown was a 16-yard run, followed by a successful PAT. Can you describe that play and what made it successful?
**Liam Standridge:** Sure! The play was designed to go outside, and I saw a gap just wide enough to burst through. Once I got past the line, it was all about using speed and agility to evade the defenders. I was just focused on getting into the end zone for my team.
**Editor:** As a key player on the team, how important was the support from your teammates during this game?
**Liam Standridge:** Teamwork is everything in football. Every player contributes to the success of the plays we run. My teammates, especially the offensive line, played a huge role in my success. Without them, I wouldn’t have been able to score those touchdowns.
**Editor:** Looking ahead, what are your hopes for the future with the Tigers or even beyond junior high football?
**Liam Standridge:** I want to keep improving as a player and hopefully carry this momentum into high school. My goal is to continue playing football and hopefully earn a spot on the varsity team. But for now, I’m just enjoying this victory with my teammates and our coaches!
**Editor:** Thank you, Liam! Congratulations again on the championship, and we can’t wait to see what you will achieve in the future!
**Liam Standridge:** Thank you for having me!
