“We are grateful that the 2024 Governor’s Cup championship has succeeded in attracting the attention and enthusiasm of the community from coaching clubs with tiered age categories,” said PBSI Central Java General Secretary Iswoyo in Kudus, Saturday.

Through regularly held national level tournaments, he hopes that the regeneration of young athletes can continue.

He admitted that every year the enthusiasm of the participants is always good, considering that this tournament has points that can boost the athletes’ ranking. Of course, this is what attracts clubs from all over Indonesia to come so that the hope is that breeding and regeneration can continue to be sustainable for the sustainability of badminton on the world stage.

Chair of the 2024 Polytron Governor Cup Organizing Committee, Yuni Kartika, appreciated the enthusiasm of the 2024 Polytron Governor Cup championship participants, totaling 1,169 athletes from 207 clubs in the country who showed their ability to record achievements and were ready to compete for prizes worth a total of IDR 471 million.

The 2024 Governor’s Cup tournament, he said, will be a preparation event for athletes to move up the grade level. So it is hoped that through this national class tournament, athletes can be encouraged to hone their skills.

“In this event, we can of course measure how the athletes in Indonesia from each club are developing, which then becomes evaluation material for the coaches, both physically, technically and mentally. From the PBSI side, we will also see the extent of the potential of the athletes’ potential. defend for the future,” he said.

The 2024 Governor’s Cup tournament is also a place to find talented seeds who are expected to make the name of the Indonesian nation proud in the future. This championship is an official national scale tournament which is included in the PBSI calendar so that athletes who compete also have the opportunity to add points as capital to play at a higher level such as the 2024 PBSI National Championship and Sirnas Premier.

Head of District Sales Polytron Handojo Djayadi added that sport is an important component that must continue to be supported, especially in looking for potential seeds by providing a place to compete for athletes.

“This is done in order to increase the flying hours of the athletes competing on the field. The hope is that new badminton players can continue to emerge with high quality to make the Indonesian nation proud in the future,” he said.

One of the PB Djarum athletes who played in the women’s singles sector in the U-13 category, Nafla Berly Syajira Al Habsy, managed to win the title after defeating fellow PB Djarum player, Laura Leydisya, in three games, 21-23, 21-15, 21-19.

“At the 2023 Governor’s Cup, I only got three podiums. But this year I am determined to train hard. Until finally I can win,” said Nafla.

“The match against Faza/Hazel was tiring because of the rubber game. Even in the second game the points were close, but we managed to take the lead and win the championship,” said Alfagan.

The singles and women’s numbers have the largest age divisions, including the age groups U11 (early age), U13 (children), U15 (beginners), U17 (teenagers), to U19 (cadets).
