Gentra News NTT – West Manggarai, 18 November 2024 – Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) in West Manggarai Regency continue to increase significantly. To overcome this problem, the West Manggarai Regency Government held a cross-sector coordination meeting to formulate measures to prevent and control dengue fever. The meeting, which was chaired directly by the Acting Regent of West Manggarai, Ondy Christian Siagian, was attended by various related parties, including Danramil 1612-02/Komodo, represented by Pelda I Nengah Ruspa.
Health Service data shows a very significant increase in dengue cases this year compared to the previous year. If in 2023 there are 590 cases recorded, then by November 2024 the number of cases will have reached 495 cases. This increase in cases occurred in almost all sub-district areas, with the highest cases recorded at the Labuan Bajo and Batu Cermin Health Centers.
In response to this situation, the Acting Regent of West Manggarai has issued a circular calling on all parties to increase efforts to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN). “DHF is a serious problem that we must face together. “I ask all parties to work together in carrying out PSN,” emphasized Ondy Christian Siagian.
During the meeting, various dengue prevention strategies were discussed, including: Intensification of PSN: All parties are asked to actively carry out PSN in their respective environments, whether at home, school, workplace or public places. Socialization: The public needs to be given a clear understanding better understanding of dengue fever, how it is transmitted, and efforts to prevent it and cross-sector cooperation: All relevant parties, including the government, TNI/Polri, and society, must work together in efforts to prevent dengue fever.
Pelda I Nengah Ruspa, representing Koramil 1612-02/Komodo, stated his readiness to fully support the government’s efforts to eradicate dengue fever. “We are ready to work with all parties to carry out PSN and provide education to the public,” he said.
