Gómez Palacio, Durango.- Employees who work in the different departments of the Gómez Palacio City Council will be vaccinated against influenza by the Municipal Health Directorate, with doses donated by the Mexican Social Security Institute.
José Antonio Adame de León, head of the agency, indicated that recently, at the request of the head of the Decentralized Drinking Water and Sewage System, Francisco Escalera Tostado, Health personnel went to Sideapa where they vaccinated 103 workers against influenza.
This initiative follows the instructions of the Municipal President Leticia Herrera Ale, who, in collaboration with the IMSS, has provided all its support for the implementation of this campaign that protects the municipality’s workers.
Adame de León added that visits are being scheduled to the agencies that request it from the Health Directorate, to apply the vaccine to whoever wishes it.
The official recalled that, in recent days, this vaccine was administered to the general public and City Hall workers, in a small module that was located in the lobby of the municipal presidency.
Finally, the head of Health mentioned that this campaign seeks to provide security to municipal workers in the face of the approaching cold season, a period in which respiratory diseases increase.
