One against the other.

Then Modo won for the first time in seven games – after an own goal by Frölunda.

– I think we deserve to lose, says Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg in TV4 Play.

Modo wins away against Frölunda – see the goals

Frölunda’s Christian Folin raged after what he considered to be a sluggish first period.

– After we get the power play, we play shit, we come up with something else and try to throw pucks through the center zone and play some damn junior hockey. That must not be how it looks on a Saturday at home. I’m terribly disappointed with how we look after the power play. We lose all momentum, we play cowardly and take no initiative, he says in TV4 Play.

But Folin and Frölunda would not be in a better mood.

Early in the final period, Modo’s Mikkel Aagaard pushed the puck up on the cross and Modo went for its first away win of the season.

Own goal in the final minutes

With 2 minutes left, Frölunda picked the goalkeeper – a move that would not pay dividends.

Instead, Henrik Tömmernes missed Mikael Ruohomaa’s pass and the puck went into his own net. Aagaard then made it 3–0 and Modo won for the first time in seven games.

Olle Eriksson Ek was also in the Modo box for the first time in five games. It was a clean sheet and 37 saves for the 25-year-old.

– We have won these matches where we have created about this many goal chances, don’t really like the attitude of the team today, says Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg in TV4 Play.

– I think we deserve to lose.

Modo Brings Home the Bacon: Frölunda’s Own Goal Drama

Well, well, well! Look at that! Modo finally managed to snag a win after a dry spell of seven games. You know, when something goes wrong in hockey, it’s usually the player’s fault, but in this case, it was all Frölunda’s doing! An own goal? Come on, that’s like baking a cake and then throwing it out the window just because you ‘wanted to try something new!’

The Game Breakdown

The night began with Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg on the sidelines, watching his team trip over their own skates. Speaking of his team’s performance, he had the audacity to say, “I think we deserve to lose!” That’s honestly like a chef tasting his own food and saying, “Yup, that’s burnt.”

Christian Folin wasn’t holding back on his critique either. Apparently, after their power play, he thought the team switched from professional hockey to “some damn junior hockey.” I mean, to be honest, a great power play often feels like getting a treat; you expect a great performance but often end up with a soggy biscuit! He mentioned they “play cowardly and take no initiative.” And you have to wonder, did they all get their skates stuck in the ice or did someone forget to turn on the motivational speakers?

Own Goal Shenanigans

Now, late in the final period, the drama peaked when Frölunda pulled their goalie in a desperate attempt to salvage the game. Instead, it backfired hilariously! In an Oscar-worthy performance, Henrik Tömmernes decided it would be a brilliant idea to ‘assist’ Modo by depositing the puck right into his own net. It’s like trying to score a goal but ending up getting a penalty instead, isn’t it? You try to be a hero but end up providing the comedic relief!

Meanwhile, Mikkel Aagaard was having the time of his life. He pushed the puck and made it 3–0 for Modo. Three-nil? That’s not just a loss, that’s a thorough thrashing! Olle Eriksson Ek returned to the Modo box for the first time in five matches, pulled off a clean sheet, and racked up 37 saves—essentially channeling a human wall. Or maybe just a really dedicated refrigerator! Either way, Modo snagged a win, pulling out all the stops.

Conclusions

So, what’s the takeaway here? Well, it seems Modo managed to turn their maybe-maybe-not season around, while Frölunda is left licking their wounds, trying to figure out who’s taking the blame. You know what they say: When you point a finger, three point back at you. Unfortunately for Frölunda, their blame came with a side of cringe-worthy performances.

As Rönnberg ruefully acknowledged, “I think we deserve to lose,” and you can almost hear the sympathetic groans from fans everywhere. Let’s just hope Frölunda can shake off the embarrassment and rehearse a comeback. Because at this rate, they might need a pep talk straight out of a motivational poster!

So buckle up, hockey fans. This season is just getting started, and if tonight’s antics are anything to go by, we’re in for a proper entertaining rollercoaster ride!

In a gripping showdown, Modo emerged victorious against Frölunda, marking their first win in seven games, largely aided by an unfortunate own goal.

Frölunda’s head coach, Roger Rönnberg, voiced his frustration, stating, “I think we deserve to lose,” during an interview on TV4 Play.

Frölunda’s Christian Folin expressed his anger regarding what he viewed as a lackluster beginning to the match, criticizing the team’s performance: “After we get the power play, we play poorly, we resort to throwing pucks through the center zone and play like junior hockey. That’s not acceptable for a Saturday game at home. I’m immensely disappointed with our performance post-power play.”

Early in the final period, as momentum swung, Modo’s Mikkel Aagaard succeeded in advancing the puck up on the cross, driving Modo towards a long-awaited away victory.

Own goal in the final minutes

In a desperate attempt to equalize, Frölunda opted to pull their goalkeeper with two minutes remaining in the game—a decision that ultimately backfired.

Unfortunately for Frölunda, defenseman Henrik Tömmernes mishandled a pass from Mikael Ruohomaa, redirecting the puck into his own net, which sealed the fate of the game. Modo’s Aagaard followed up to secure a 3–0 lead, clinching their first away win of the season.

Olle Eriksson Ek made a notable return to the Modo lineup, playing for the first time in five games, delivering an impressive performance with 37 saves that preserved a clean sheet.

Rönnberg reiterated his discontent, stating, “We have won these matches where we have created similar goal chances. Today, the team’s attitude was lacking.”

“I think we deserve to lose,” he concluded.

**Interview with Roger Rönnberg, Head‍ Coach of Frölunda**

*Editor: Thank you for‍ joining us, Roger. After last⁢ night’s tough match against Modo, what are your immediate thoughts on the team’s performance?*

**Roger Rönnberg:** Thank you for having me. Honestly, ‍it was a disappointing night for us. Our execution was just not there. ⁢I think we lacked intensity and focus, especially after that power play. It felt ‍like we went from ⁤playing professional hockey to ‍something you’d ⁣expect from junior teams. That’s unacceptable.

*Editor: You mentioned deserving to lose during your post-game interview. Can you elaborate on what you‍ believed contributed to that outcome?*

**Roger Rönnberg:** Absolutely. When you look at how we ⁣played, especially⁢ in the first period, it was sluggish. We didn’t compete hard enough, and we didn’t play smart. We made basic mistakes, and the own goal in the final minutes just summed⁣ up our night. ⁣That kind ⁤of play is not what you want to see ‌from your team, especially at home.

*Editor: Christian Folin expressed similar frustrations with the team’s mentality. ⁣How do you plan to rally your players after such a morale-draining game?*

**Roger‍ Rönnberg:** It’s really important we take this as‌ a⁣ learning moment. We’re going to review the game, address the mistakes, and focus on building back our confidence. *Editor: Moving forward, what adjustments can fans expect to see in the next match?*

**Roger Rönnberg:** You can expect‍ more intensity and a greater sense of urgency. We need to get back to ‌our ⁤core values—hard‌ work, teamwork, and smart play. We need to be more proactive instead of waiting for things to happen. And ⁢we will certainly work on our power play! That has to be a strength,‌ not a weakness.

*Editor: Thank you, Roger, for your candid remarks. Wishing you and the team the best of luck in your next game.*

**Roger Rönnberg:** Thank you! We appreciate ⁣the support and will work hard to make ⁢our fans proud.
