**Interview with Giorgos Gavrilos: Reflections on His Resignation and the Future of SYRIZA**
**Editor:** Mr. Gavrilos, thank you for joining us. You recently announced your resignation as SYRIZA’s parliamentary representative, citing dissatisfaction with the party’s direction. What specific mistakes do you believe have led to this decision?
**Giorgos Gavrilos:** Thank you for having me. Over the past two months, I have observed a series of strategic missteps and a lack of clear communication within our ranks. These issues have impacted not just our cohesion but also our public perception, which is vital for any political party.
**Editor:** In light of your resignation, how do you perceive the future of SYRIZA? Do you believe this will lead to further instability within the party?
**Giorgos Gavrilos:** Change is always challenging, but it can also be an opportunity for growth. My hope is that this resignation will spark a necessary conversation among members about our priorities and how we can better serve the public.
**Editor:** There’s a growing sentiment among voters that there’s a disconnect between party leadership and grassroots supporters. How do you think the party can bridge this gap moving forward?
**Giorgos Gavrilos:** Engaging in open dialogues with our constituents is crucial. We need to listen more actively to their concerns and ensure that their voices shape our policies. It’s about rebuilding trust.
**Editor:** Some party insiders have hinted at further resignations following your announcement. How do you think this could impact SYRIZA’s ability to compete politically in upcoming elections?
**Giorgos Gavrilos:** If more representatives feel that their concerns are not being addressed, we may see further resignations. This could be a blow to our efforts, but it could also motivate the party to reassess and recommit to our foundational values, which, ultimately, might strengthen us.
**Editor:** what message do you have for SYRIZA supporters who may feel uncertain about the party’s direction amidst these changes?
**Giorgos Gavrilos:** I urge our supporters to stay engaged and voice their opinions. Change can be unsettling, but it is also an opportunity for renewal. This moment can serve as a catalyst for deeper engagement and stronger representation of the people’s needs.
