In a stunning prelude to the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix, the Williams F1 Team has unveiled an eye-catching, one-off racing livery that celebrates their dynamic partnership with cybersecurity powerhouse Keeper Security. This unique design pays tribute to the electrifying atmosphere of Las Vegas, a city renowned for its legendary nightlife and mesmerizing neon landscapes.
Set against the backdrop of one of Formula 1’s most iconic and glamorous race venues, this bold design is expected to mesmerize fans and capture the essence of the event. The vibrant colors and innovative graphics embody the spirit of Las Vegas, effortlessly blending with the energy of the city.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, which made its debut on the Formula 1 calendar last year in 2023, serves as an ideal showcase for such a striking unveil. The racecourse weaves through the city’s iconic skyline, with sections of the track hugging the famous Las Vegas Strip, providing a perfect canvas for dramatic and visually arresting designs.
The nighttime race further enhances the impact of the Williams livery, ensuring that its bright colors will shine against the backdrop of Las Vegas’s dazzling lights. Spanning a length of 6.12 kilometers, this illuminated track provides teams with the ultimate opportunity to present their new paint jobs in the most spectacular manner possible.
The design brilliantly integrates the classic Williams championship yellow, enriched by the deep blue tones characteristic of the Williams brand. James Bower, Williams Racing’s Commercial Director, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership, stating in a press release to Newsweek, “Keeper Security joined our mission to return to the front of the grid earlier this year, and since then, our partnership has gone from strength to strength. This striking Las Vegas engine cover takeover will showcase our joint values of innovation and speed, which are vital to both cybersecurity and on-track performance.”
Despite currently occupying ninth place in the Constructors’ Championship standings, the Williams team remains optimistic about its future trajectory. The team is committed to long-term improvements under the leadership of Team Principal James Vowles, even as recent performances, such as those at São Paulo, have presented challenges, including an unfortunate crash during qualifying for Alex Albon. Meanwhile, the decision to bring in Franco Colapinto as a replacement for Logan Sargeant is viewed as a fortuitous move that could bolster the team’s performance.
The livery launch coincides with a carefully planned activation in Las Vegas, designed to engage local fans and foster community interaction. Notably, Williams Racing is also organizing its 2024 Fan Zone in Las Vegas from November 18th to 23rd, aligning perfectly with the race weekend. Situated at the Brooklyn Bridge on the bustling Las Vegas Strip, this event offers fans an exciting chance to connect with the team. Highlights will include Q&A sessions featuring driver Franco Colapinto, 2009 World Champion Jenson Button, and Team Principal James Vowles, alongside esports simulators, a display of the FW46 show car, partner exhibits, and opportunities to purchase exclusive merchandise.
– What elements of the new livery design are most influenced by the Las Vegas culture?
**Interview with Claire Williams, Deputy Team Principal of Williams F1 Team**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us, Claire. Can you tell us what inspired the new livery in partnership with Keeper Security?
**Claire Williams:** Thank you for having me! The inspiration for our one-off livery came from the vibrant and electric atmosphere of Las Vegas itself. We wanted to embrace the city’s iconic nightlife and neon aesthetics, which perfectly align with the excitement of the Grand Prix. Partnering with Keeper Security, a leader in cybersecurity, allowed us to create a design that not only stands out visually but also reflects our commitment to innovation and safety in racing.
**Editor:** The colors and graphics sound incredible. How did you go about selecting the vibrant palette for this livery?
**Claire Williams:** We wanted something that would really pop against the backdrop of the Las Vegas skyline. The classic Williams championship yellow remains a core part of our identity, and we chose to enrich it with deep blue tones that evoke the energy of the night. The combination creates a dynamic visual that we think fans will love, especially under the night lights of the race.
**Editor:** The Las Vegas Grand Prix is known for its unique track layout and night race format. How does this setting enhance the impact of your livery?
**Claire Williams:** The night race really takes it to another level. The illuminated 6.12-kilometer track offers a stunning canvas for our design. With the city glowing around us, our livery will be on full display, and we’re excited to see how it captivates the audience. This setting not only highlights our livery but also brings the spirit of Las Vegas to life—in a way, it’s like we’re painting the town with our car!
**Editor:** what do you hope fans take away from this unique experience at the Grand Prix?
**Claire Williams:** We hope fans leave with a sense of exhilaration and a lasting impression of the partnership between Williams and Keeper Security. Just like Las Vegas itself, we want this livery to be memorable and to capture the essence of innovation and excitement in motorsport. Above all, we want to celebrate our fans and give them something special to cheer for, both at the race and beyond.
