Vienna – The organizer Show Factory is canceling all open-air concerts and musical events planned for 2025 in the main courtyard of Schönbrunn Palace. This also includes the two performances of the Fendrich musical “I Am From Austria” by the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien (July 3rd and 4th) and the event series “Schönbrunn Classics”. The reason was “unfeasible legal noise protection requirements,” Show Factory said in a press release on Friday.

What are the specific noise protection requirements that led to the cancellation of the concerts at Schönbrunn Palace?
**Interview with Maria Keller, Music Event Organizer from Show Factory**
**Editor**: Thank you for joining us, Maria. Can you share more about the decision to cancel all open-air concerts at Schönbrunn Palace for 2025?
**Maria Keller**: Of course. After careful consideration, we found that the legal noise protection requirements for events in the main courtyard of Schönbrunn Palace are simply unfeasible. This affects not just our upcoming concerts but also iconic performances like “I Am From Austria” and the “Schönbrunn Classics” series.
**Editor**: What has the response been like from artists and the local community regarding this cancellation?
**Maria Keller**: The response has been mixed. Many artists are disappointed, as these events are significant for both cultural expression and audience engagement. The local community also feels the impact, both from a cultural perspective and economically since these events attract tourism.
**Editor**: Do you believe there are potential solutions to accommodate both noise regulations and live performances at such a historic venue?
**Maria Keller**: That’s the crux of the issue. Some have suggested soundproofing technologies or alternative venues, while others argue that the regulations are too stringent for such an iconic space. Finding a compromise that satisfies both sides is a challenge we continue to explore.
**Editor**: how do you think the cancellation of these events will affect public perception of live performances in Vienna?
**Maria Keller**: It could lead to frustration among the public who cherish these cultural experiences. On the flip side, it might spark a larger debate about the balance between preserving heritage sites and supporting the arts. We’d love to hear what the audience thinks: should cultural heritage take precedence over live musical events, or is there a way to harmonize both?
**Editor**: That’s an important question, Maria. Readers, what are your thoughts? Are noise regulations overshadowing our cultural events, or is it crucial to protect the integrity of historic sites? We want to hear from you!
