British investors in the sights of the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA). A conference and a Business to Government (B2G) mission were recently carried out by the Agency with a view to attracting British investors to the Moroccan agricultural and agri-food sectors, in collaboration with the Moroccan embassy in the United Kingdom. “This event aimed to highlight investment opportunities and strengthen relations between British investors and Moroccan players in the sector,” the agency said in this regard. And to specify that “the conference was structured around two panels. The first made it possible to present investment opportunities in the agricultural and agri-food sector in Morocco and the second detailed the different financing mechanisms for investment projects.
The agricultural development agency recalls that after Brexit, Morocco and the United Kingdom have strengthened their cooperation in several areas, notably trade and investment. The association agreement, which entered into force on January 1, 2021, made it possible to maintain trade, thus opening new perspectives for operators in the two countries.
Furthermore, due to its strategic position and its leadership role in Africa, Morocco constitutes a privileged gateway to the continent for the United Kingdom, thus offering significant investment and partnership opportunities. It should be noted that the event brought together representatives of the ADA, the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, MEDZ-CDG, UK Export Finance and the Growth Gateway. Nearly 60 British investors attended this conference, and several B2G meetings were organized, highlighting the growing interest in the Moroccan agricultural sector.
