BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team, under the leadership of Head Coach Kyle Hallock, proudly announced the signing of eight promising athletes on Wednesday, November 13, as part of the much-anticipated National Signing Day. The Falcons will enrich their roster with two outfielders, two middle infielders, an impressive duo of left-handed pitchers, one right-handed pitcher, and a skilled catcher. Notably, every member of this class has secured a position in the Top 50 Overall Players within their respective states or provinces, showcasing the high caliber of talent joining the program.
“First of all, I would like to thank Associate Head Coach Matt Rembielak, Recruiting Coordinator Joey Gamache and Assistant Coach Joey Cooper for their teamwork in putting together another great recruiting class,” expressed head coach Kyle Hallock, emphasizing the collective effort behind this recruitment. “Each member of this class fits the personality of BGSU Baseball in their own, specific way. We expect this group of young men to make an impact on our program from our very first workout next fall. As gifted as they are on the diamond, they are equally as hungry to continue the championship tradition of Falcon Baseball. Each of these student-athletes are players we feel that we can win with during their time at BGSU. Anthony Bonnetti – OF, R/R (Chesterfield, Mich. / Richmond)
A 6-foot-3 outfielder, Anthony Bonnetti arrives in Bowling Green from Chesterfield, Michigan, and carries a rich baseball legacy—his father, Jason, was a standout player for Central Michigan. In a compelling 2024 season, Bonnetti amassed a slew of accolades, including being named First Team All-Region, First Team All-State, and clinching the title of 2024 Macomb County Division 2-5 Player of the Year. He played a crucial role in propelling the Blue Devils to a remarkable top-eight finish in the state, culminating in victories at both the District and Regional Championships. On the summer circuit, Bonnetti shined while playing for the Motor City Hit Dogs and earned All-State recognition from Perfect Game. Aspiring to major in Business at Bowling Green, Bonnetti is recognized by Prep Baseball Report as the No. 2 ranked outfielder in Michigan.

“Anthony is a multi-sport athlete that has the physical gifts to make an impact on our program. He has a strong frame and can really run for his size. As one of the top outfielders in our area, he’s arriving at BGSU highly accomplished with the production to match his potential.”
Joey Buchanan – LHP, L/L (Milford, Ohio / Milford)
Hailing from Milford, Ohio, 6-foot-1 left-handed pitcher Joey Buchanan has earned the esteemed title of captain for his high school team, the Eagles. His prowess on the mound has earned him First Team All-Conference kudos for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In a strong showing during summer competition, Buchanan played for both Artillery and Five Star National. He aspires to major in Aviation with the ambition of becoming a pilot. Prep Baseball Report ranks him as the No. 7 left-handed pitcher in Ohio.

“Joey is one of the top left-handed pitchers in the state of Ohio for this class. His clean delivery, big-time breaking ball and quick arm are what separates him from others. He will be coming to BGSU with competitiveness and big game experience. He will continue to develop in our program.”
Andrew DiLodovico – C, R/R (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South)
A 6-foot-1 catcher, Andrew DiLodovico captained the 2024 Grosse Pointe South team to an impressive District Finals appearance. During an outstanding season, he boasted a .475 batting average, racking up 12 doubles and an OPS of 1.311, and was duly honored as the team’s MVP with Second Team All-State recognition. In a previous campaign, DiLodovico hit .349 while playing a crucial role in guiding the Blue Devils to a Regional title. On the summer circuit, he played for Wow Factor, achieving a .407 batting average with an OPS of 1.095. Andrew is also keen on pursuing a major in Pre-Health Biology at Bowling Green and sits at the top ranking as the No. 1 catcher in Michigan according to Prep Baseball Report.

“Andrew has great feel for the game from the catching position. He is a complete player. From the first time we saw him, we knew he could catch and the development of his offense for Grosse Pointe South has allowed him to become one of the best catchers in the state of Michigan.”
John Hughes – OF, R/R (Mississauga, Ontario / Applewood Heights)
Joining the Falcons is the 5-foot-10 outfielder John Hughes from Mississauga, Ontario, where he gained prominence at Applewood Heights Secondary School. Hughes’ accolades include being named a three-time High School Athlete of the Year and representing Team Ontario during the 2023 season. With impressive participation in the Canadian Futures Tournament and being named a Canadian Premier Baseball League All-Star for three consecutive years, he also contributed to the Canadian National Championship team in 2023. Hughes is honored by Prep Baseball Report as the No. 7 ranked outfielder in Ontario, Canada.

“John is a ball player with physical tools and presence. He stands out right away at just about every baseball field he shows up to. He squares up balls and plays the game the right way all the time. John is one of the best players in his class coming out of Ontario.”
Jackson Miller – LHP, R/L (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland)
Standing tall at 6-foot-4, Jackson Miller makes his way to Bowling Green from Lakeland High School, showcasing his left-handed pitching talents. This White Lake, Michigan native earned well-deserved All-Region honors after a strong 2022 campaign, complemented by All-Conference recognition in the 2023 season. According to Prep Baseball Report, Miller is notably ranked as the No. 7 left-handed pitcher in Michigan.

“Jack is a long limbed, loose armed left-handed pitcher whose fastball and breaking ball have jumped off the charts the past year. He possesses the pitch-ability and mental makeup to help us win at this level. He has been pitching and winning big games for a few years and that experience will allow him to impact our staff.”
Josh Mommers – INF, L/R (Rocky River, Ohio / Rocky River)
5-foot-11 middle infielder Josh Mommers carries on the family legacy as a second-generation collegiate baseball player, with his father Joe having played for Tri-C. Coming off a stellar 2024 season, Mommers recorded a .300 batting average alongside five doubles, four triples, and two home runs. His impressive season also included 27 walks and 22 stolen bases, leading to a .495 on-base percentage paired with a .545 slugging percentage. His performance earned him First Team All-Conference honors and propelled Rocky River to a conference championship. Prep Baseball Report ranks him as the No. 1 second baseman in Ohio.

“Josh is a well-rounded, complete baseball player. He is another multi-sport athlete that understands how to compete between the lines. He has good hands both offensively and defensively. In games, he produces as well as anyone at his position in Ohio and that feature will be a great addition to our program.”
Griffin Scheiderer – INF, L/R (Marysville, Ohio / Marysville)
Griffin Scheiderer joins the Falcons after four high-impact years at Marysville High School, where he distinguished himself with a .337 batting average and a .430 on-base percentage, accumulating 80 hits with 23 being extra-base hits. The talented scheiderer has earned First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, and PBR All-State Honorable Mention accolades during his career. His summer ball performance with Ohio Elite Ratcliff also highlighted his talent, where he achieved an impressive .388 batting average, including nine extra-base hits. Prep Baseball Report ranks him as the No. 9 shortstop in the state of Ohio.

“Griffin has been highly productive since he was referred to us his freshman year of high school. He’s a winning player that finds the barrel often and uses the opposite field very well with a mature approach. Defensively, he’s automatic with the glove and is one of the best on both sides of the ball at his position in the state.”
Joey Turner – RHP, R/R (St. Clair, Mich. / St. Clair)
Joining the Falcons is Joey Turner, a 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher who will reunite with his brother, fellow right-handed pitcher Jacob Turner. With an impressive list of accolades from his time at St. Clair, Turner is celebrated for his All-Conference honors and selections for both the PBR Junior Future Games and the 2023 USA Baseball Team Midwest, as well as the 2024 Team Michigan roster. According to Prep Baseball Report, Turner is positioned as the No. 13 ranked right-handed pitcher in Michigan.

“Joey Turner is a physical, strong-armed righty with advanced pitch-ability. He features a great change up that he can use in any count. He performed very well on the national stage at the Team USA complex against the best in the country as one of the top RHPs from Michigan. We look forward to his impact on our team next fall.”

**Coach Hallock:** Absolutely, and thank you for having me. This class is particularly exciting because we’ve brought in eight exceptional athletes who are not only highly ranked—each being among the Top 50 players in their respective states—but also fit perfectly into the culture we’ve built at BGSU Baseball.
**Editor:** You mentioned the team’s culture. How do you assess the potential impact of these athletes on the program?
**Coach Hallock:** Each of these young men has shown tremendous skill on the field, but what really stands out is their determination and genuine desire to contribute to our championship tradition. I believe they will impact our program positively from day one when they arrive next fall.
**Editor:** Let’s talk about some of the signees. Anthony Bonnetti seems to have a strong baseball legacy. How do you see him fitting in with the team?
**Coach Hallock:** Anthony is an exciting prospect with elite physical abilities. At 6-foot-3, he possesses a strong frame, and his speed is remarkable for his size. He’s not only accomplished on the diamond—being a standout and recognized player in Michigan—but carries that legacy forward, which we value highly.
**Editor:** Joey Buchanan also had quite an impressive record. What do you find most exciting about bringing him on board?
**Coach Hallock:** Joey is a fierce competitor and a natural leader, having earned captaincy on his high school team. His experience and skills as a left-handed pitcher put him in a great position to thrive in college baseball. I’m looking forward to seeing him develop further with us.
**Editor:** Andrew DiLodovico has also been acknowledged by his accolades. What can you tell us about his skills behind the plate?
**Coach Hallock:** Andrew’s offensive and defensive skills make him one of the best catchers in Michigan. He reads the game extremely well, and his .475 batting average speaks to his prowess as a hitter. His ability to lead and perform under pressure will be invaluable.
**Editor:** Lastly, what are your expectations for the entire signing class in terms of long-term development?
**Coach Hallock:** My expectation is straightforward: I envision each of these athletes growing not just as players, but also as individuals who contribute to our program’s values. With the level of skill they bring and their commitment to their education, I truly believe they will elevate BGSU Baseball to new heights in the years ahead.
