“I visited a lot of colleges, but once I stepped into Wallace and spoke with the coaching staff, I immediately felt an undeniable sense of belonging,” Brown shared regarding her decision. “The atmosphere just felt right, like home, and I knew that was the place for me.”

Brown boasted an impressive .369 batting average in the 2024 season, complemented by a .414 on-base percentage and a .554 slugging percentage. In total, she tallied five doubles, two triples, one home run, 19 RBIs, and 20 runs, demonstrating her offensive prowess. Defensively, she achieved a .784 fielding percentage with 26 putouts, three assists, and was involved in three double plays, showcasing her skills in the field.

Interestingly, Brown’s journey to college-level softball has been unconventional. While many athletes start early, Brown found her passion a bit later, not stepping onto a softball field until her seventh-grade year after transitioning from a long stint in gymnastics. “I did gymnastics my whole life, but eventually, I lost interest in it,” she reflected. “After discussing it with my dad, I decided to try out softball, and he assured me, ‘Once you pick up that bat, you won’t want to stop,’ and he was right. I fell in love with the sport.”

Determined to excel in both her academics and athletics, Brown plans to pursue a nursing degree while keeping the door open to advance her softball career. “I aim to work hard and continuously improve my skills, and I have full confidence that the coaches at Wallace will guide me toward achieving my potential,” Brown stated. “If it’s meant to be, I believe I could compete at the four-year level.”

As she prepares for her senior season at Pike, Brown remains focused on cherishing each moment. “I really just want to live in the moment and enjoy it while I can,” she emphasized. “I know these years are fleeting, and my goal is to have fun and give my best effort every game.”
