Ali Wazir handed over to police on 3-day physical remand

The anti-terrorism court approved the 3-day physical remand of former MNA and PTM leader Ali Wazir on charges of providing financial support to terrorists and handed him over to the police for 3 days.

In the Anti-Terrorism Court, Duty Judge Raja Jawad Abbas heard the case against the PTM leader on charges of providing financial support to terrorists, in which Ali Wazir appeared before the court.

During the hearing, the prosecutor requested for physical remand, and it was decided that this is the first remand of Ali Wazir. The financial support given to terrorists should be investigated.

The text of the FIR registered against Ali Wazir was read in the court by the prosecutor. The judge asked the prosecutor what is the anti-state narrative. Tell them?

Ali Wazir said while appearing in the court that I am 47 years old, we are suffering till date. Where the world is going, target shooting is happening.

The court inquired whether it will be decided by you or the state?, to which Ali Wazir said that the state will decide but we are crying.

The judge remarked that I don’t watch ATC but nowadays I watch narcotics. If a case of narcotics is made, then we will hear it.

Ali Wazir’s lawyer told the court that Ali Wazir spent 2 years in jail in Karachi. The PTM leader said that we have a funding mechanism. They call their people. We do this by taking funding from you and saying that we have to raise our voice against terrorism.

Judge Raja Jawad Abbas smilingly remarked, “Fire me, I will fund or pay the bills.” Ali Wazir said that prove that we have wrongly funded.

Later, the duty judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court granted PTM leader Ali Wazir’s 3-day physical remand and handed him over to the police for 3 days.

**Dr. Khan**:⁤ Thank you for having me. The approval of ⁢a physical remand ⁤is significant as⁢ it allows⁣ law ‍enforcement to⁢ interrogate the accused⁤ in custody, which‌ can be crucial in gathering evidence. In cases involving terrorism charges, the court generally aims to ensure that thorough investigations are ⁣conducted to ‍establish the truth.

**Editor**: What‍ does this mean for Wazir’s political career and the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement⁢ (PTM) he leads?

**Dr.‌ Khan**: This situation is complex. ⁣Ali Wazir is a prominent figure ⁤within PTM, which advocates for the rights of Pashtuns. Such serious allegations could not only impact his political career but also ⁤affect the‍ movement’s public ⁤perception. If proven guilty, it could undermine the‍ legitimacy of PTM’s⁤ cause. **Editor**: How do these type of ‌allegations influence the broader political climate in the region?

**Dr. Khan**: Allegations of terrorism involving political figures often escalate tensions and polarize public opinion. ‌They can lead to increased scrutiny of political movements‌ like PTM, which demands⁢ accountability from ‍the state.
