How fool-proof security arrangements have been made for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka series in Karachi will be known in this news

The three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is taking place from tomorrow in Karachi for which the administration and law enforcement agencies have finalized the security arrangements.

The first match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played tomorrow at the National Stadium in Karachi, after which the remaining two ODI matches of the series will be played on September 29 and October 2.

Law enforcement agencies have made foolproof security arrangements for the series while details of parking arrangements and alternative routes for traffic have been released for stadium visitors.

DIG East Aamir Farooqui said that during the teams’ route from the stadium to the hotel, around 4,500 policemen will be deployed while additional Rangers will also be deployed.

The senior police officer further said that along with the team routes, additional personnel of Pakistan Army will also be deployed inside the stadium, Rangers will also be present in the stadium while both police and Rangers will be deployed in the parking areas.

He said that about 1300 police personnel will be deployed in the stadium premises alone for security arrangements while traffic arrangements have also been made to save citizens from inconvenience.

Traffic arrangements

The road from Karsaz to Hasan Square will be closed for traffic on Friday before the start of the match, while the road from Stadium Road to Time Medicos and Dalmia Road will also be closed for traffic.

However, the route from New Town via Stadium Road to Aga Khan University Hospital and Liaquat National Hospital will be open for patients and doctors.

DIG East said that for security reasons, the roads around the National Stadium will be closed, while the residents around Karsaz and Hassan Square will be able to go home by showing their identity cards, but other people will not be allowed to go.

Meanwhile, DIG Traffic Javed Mehr said that traffic police have arranged alternative routes to save the citizens of Karachi from any inconvenience during the matches on 27th, 29th September and 2nd October.
