ONE of the performers at the International Golo Mori Jazz, Tohpati, also expressed his condolences for the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki, in Wulanggitang District, East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. He hopes that by postponing the International Golo Mori Jazz, preparations for the event can be even more thorough in 2025.
“It crossed my mind, can we just keep going? I saw that the distance between Golo Mori and the mountain (Lewotobi Laki) is around 400 km, is it affected or not? But Mr. Bagas said that ethically it would be better not to hold it. “And it turns out the airport is closed, oh yes, we have to postpone,” said Tohpati during a press conference, Monday (11/11).
Finally, he agreed to support Jazz Gunung Indonesia‘s decision to postpone the holding of the International Golo Mori Jazz in the first quarter of 2025. Even though he admitted that his preparations for the performance were already 80 percent complete.

“In terms of music, it’s actually 80 percent. The songs have been collected, I have arranged the orchestra. “Rhythm has been practiced four times,” he said.
Main Director of Jazz Gunung Indonesia, Bagas Indyatmono, emphasized that the International Golo Mori Jazz will still be held at the Golo Mori Convention Center (GMCC). His party is also preparing several options regarding tickets, which have already been sold 85 percent.
“The first option can still be used on the new date. We will confirm the date. “The second option is a refund,” he explained.
The ticket return process, he said, will be carried out through an official refund service and does not involve third parties. Information regarding the refund process will be announced through the official channels of Jazz Gunung Indonesia.
The organizers hope that the audience and jazz fans can understand this decision and look forward to holding the International Golo Mori Jazz in the future in a safer situation. (Nov)

**Interview with Tohpati: Preparing for the International Golo Mori Jazz**
*Editor*: Today we’re joined by Tohpati, one of the featured performers at the upcoming International Golo Mori Jazz festival. Tohpati, I understand preparations for the event are largely complete, but there have been some recent developments regarding Mount Lewotobi Laki. Can you share your thoughts on that?
**Tohpati**: Absolutely. First and foremost, I want to express my condolences for the people affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki. It’s a tragic event for the community in East Flores, and our hearts are with them.
*Editor*: With the eruption and the subsequent airport closures, you decided to postpone the festival. What led to that decision?
**Tohpati**: Initially, I thought about whether we could proceed with the festival since Golo Mori is about 400 kilometers away from the mountain. I was hoping we could still go on with our plans. However, after discussions with Mr. Bagas and considering the situation, we felt it would be more ethical to postpone. We want to ensure that we can hold the event safely and responsibly.
*Editor*: Given that preparations were already 80% complete, how do you feel about the delay? Will it give you a chance to enhance the festival?
**Tohpati**: Yes, while it’s disappointing to postpone, I see it as an opportunity to refine our plans further. With the extra time, we can strengthen our lineup and improve the overall experience for our audience. I believe this will ultimately benefit everyone involved.
*Editor*: That sounds positive. What can attendees expect when the festival finally takes place in 2025?
**Tohpati**: Attendees can look forward to incredible performances and a vibrant atmosphere. We’re committed to bringing together talented artists and creating memorable experiences. The extra time will help us make it an even more remarkable event.
*Editor*: Thank you, Tohpati, for sharing your insights. We look forward to the rescheduled festival and hope for a smooth recovery for the impacted communities.
**Tohpati**: Thank you for having me. I appreciate the support, and I can’t wait for the festival in 2025!
