The Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) Muhammad Anis Matta urged the world to strengthen efforts to isolate Israel from the international community and expel it from the United Nations (UN) as diplomatic pressure for its aggression against the Palestinian people.
This was conveyed by Anis as a proposal for joint action to stop genocide in Palestine at the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)-Arab League in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Monday (11/11), as monitored via the YouTube channel of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Riyadh , Tuesday (12/11).
“We urge all international institutions to isolate Israel and withdraw its membership from the United Nations and not allow the war crimes and genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people (to continue) without consequences,” said the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Arabic.

He called on the international community to increase political and diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza and Lebanon in order to prevent an escalation that has the potential to worsen the conflict in the Middle East.
According to him, Israel’s isolation from the international community is increasingly necessary to ensure that the Zionist regime suffers the consequences of disobeying decisions and orders from the UN, the UN Security Council and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Anis also called on Arab and Islamic countries to reject all efforts to normalize relations with Israel and review diplomatic relations with Israel in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative which offers a solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Apart from Indonesia, Malaysia has also called for Israel to be expelled from the UN, as stated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in the Malaysian Parliament session on November 4.
At that time, Anwar stated that his government was preparing a draft UN General Assembly resolution to recommend that Israel be expelled from the UN after the country violated laws, laws and UN decisions.
The draft resolution, according to Anwar, is currently in the negotiation process and is expected to be submitted to the UN General Assembly for approval in the near future. (Ant/Z-2)

**Interview with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Anis Matta**
**Editor:** Thank you, Mr. Matta, for joining us today. You recently made a significant statement at the Extraordinary Summit of the OIC-Arab League. Could you elaborate on the main thrust of your message regarding Israel and the Palestinian situation?
**Anis Matta:** Thank you for having me. At the summit, I emphasized the urgent need for the international community to unite in isolating Israel diplomatically. The ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people cannot go unchecked, and we believe that expelling Israel from the United Nations is a crucial step to hold it accountable for the war crimes and acts of genocide that have been committed.
**Editor:** That’s a bold proposal. What kind of support are you hoping to receive from the international community following your statement?
**Anis Matta:** We are seeking solidarity from countries that value human rights and international law. It is essential for nations to stand together in condemning any actions that lead to the suffering of innocent communities, particularly in Palestine. We hope to rally support for tangible actions that can bring about change, rather than just surface-level condemnation.
**Editor:** In your speech, you mentioned the concept of consequences for Israel’s actions. What form do you envision these consequences taking?
**Anis Matta:** Consequences could manifest in various ways, such as economic sanctions, diplomatic isolation, and more robust resolutions from international institutions. The goal is to create a framework where violations of international law are met with significant repercussions, not just empty words.
**Editor:** How do you respond to critics who argue that such actions might exacerbate tensions in the region rather than promote peace?
**Anis Matta:** We believe that acknowledging the rights and hardships of the Palestinian people is fundamental to any genuine peace process. Ignoring these issues only perpetuates conflict. Our aim is not to provoke, but to seek justice and a sustainable solution that fosters a lasting peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
**Editor:** Thank you, Mr. Matta. Your insights are invaluable as we navigate these complex issues. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with us.
**Anis Matta:** Thank you for the opportunity. It’s vital to keep these discussions alive for the sake of humanity.
