J.D. Vance will become the US Vice President, a millennial and the second-youngest Vice President in history. He was a senator from Ohio when Trump chose him to be his running mate.
Vance is seen as the heir apparent to the MAGA movement, which espouses economic populist positions and is skeptical of US foreign engagements such as financing of Ukraine.

The son of Cuban immigrants, he is seen as a foreign policy hawk who strongly supports a tough line on Iran and China.
Trump called Rubio “Little Marco” when he ran against him in the 2016 Republican primary, but his agreement to serve as Secretary of State appears to indicate a good relationship with the president-elect.
Rubio is widely respected among establishment Republicans, but he has recently adopted more economically populist policy positions.
- Defense Minister: Pete Hegseth
Trump chose Pete Hegseth, host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” to lead the US Department of Defense.

- CIA Director: John Ratcliffe
John Ratcliffe is a former congressman from Texas who was Director of National Intelligence under Trump during his first term.
While serving as head of national intelligence, Ratcliffe denied unsubstantiated claims made by “false spies” that Hunter Biden’s laptop was part of a “Russian disinformation campaign.”
Ratcliffe is seen as a hawk on China, and accused the communist country of engaging in a “extensive cover-up” of the origins of Covid-19.
- UN Ambassador: Elise Stefanik
Representative Elise Stefanik has been chosen to be Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations. Stefanik is the fourth-highest-ranking Republican member of the House of Representatives, and has been a staunch ally of Trump.
The president-elect’s Jewish supporters welcomed the selection of the representative from upstate New York. Stefanik’s tough questioning of anti-Semitism on campus is widely seen as having led to the dismissals of the presidents of Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.
- Frontier Czar: Tom Homan
Tom Homan headed ICE’s enforcement and removal operations under President Barack Obama in 2013, before being selected to lead the agency by Trump in 2017.
Homan will not need Senate confirmation as border czar, and Trump has tasked him with overseeing his ambitious plans to deport immigrants. Homan has been a prominent proponent of deportations, supporting Trump’s initiative to deport more than a million illegal immigrants.

It is noteworthy that Musk is the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and the X platform (formerly Twitter), while Ramaswamy is a businessman and former Republican presidential candidate.
