**Interview with Theodora Tzakri, Former Secretary of the SYRIZA Committee**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Theodora. You recently submitted your resignation as secretary of the SYRIZA Committee. Can you explain the reasons behind your decision?
**Theodora Tzakri:** Thank you for having me. My resignation primarily stems from my concerns regarding the actions and methods employed by the governing bodies of SYRIZA-PS, particularly before and during the recent party conference. I believe that these methods did not uphold the democratic ideals we espouse and have led me to question the direction of the party.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned in your letter that your confidence in the party’s collective operation was shaken. Can you elaborate on what specific incidents contributed to this feeling?
**Theodora Tzakri:** There were several moments during the conference that felt dismissive of the core principles of collaboration and respect that should guide our Parliamentary Group. Decisions seemed to be made unilaterally, without adequate representation of all voices within our ranks. This erosion of trust in our collective process is what ultimately compelled me to resign.
**Interviewer:** It’s been noted that Thanos Moraitis also resigned from his position as director of the Parliamentary Group, expressing similar sentiments about the recent developments in the party. What does this say about the current state of SYRIZA?
**Theodora Tzakri:** Thanos’s resignation reflects a broader discontent within our ranks. It signals that there are those among us who are deeply troubled by the direction in which SYRIZA is heading. This could potentially lead to significant shifts in our party dynamics, especially as some members, like Thanos, are openly supporting the new movement being prepared by Stefanos Kasselakis.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned support for Kasselakis’s new movement. What does this mean for your future within the party?
**Theodora Tzakri:** While I have stepped back from my official role, I remain a member of the Parliamentary Group and will continue to advocate for the values and principles I believe in. I am open to supporting any movement that aligns with a more democratic and inclusive approach to governance and party leadership.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Theodora, for sharing your insights. It will be interesting to see how these developments shape the future of SYRIZA.
**Theodora Tzakri:** Thank you for having me. I sincerely hope that our party can find a way forward that respects the voices of all its members.
