**Interview with Alpaslan Beklevic, Bourgmestre of the Municipal College**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Mr. Beklevic. The Municipal College you lead includes a diverse range of skills. Can you tell us more about the importance of having such a varied skill set among your team members?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Thank you for having me. It’s crucial for us to have a team with varied skills because each area of governance requires a unique approach and understanding. From security and emergency planning to urban development and cultural initiatives, it’s essential that we have individuals who are experts in their respective fields to tackle the multifaceted challenges our community faces.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned security and emergency planning. How does that fit into your larger vision as Bourgmestre?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Safety is a top priority. My goal is to ensure that our community feels secure and supported in emergencies. This involves not only effective police and fire services but also effective communication and coordination within our municipal policies to respond to any crisis efficiently. Moreover, it ties into our Transversal Strategic Plan, which focuses on integrating various municipal services for better community support.
**Interviewer:** With Michel Mathy overseeing finances and participatory budgets, how do you envision the community’s involvement in these decisions?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Michel is doing a fantastic job in fostering community engagement. Participatory budgets are a vital part of our strategy; they allow residents to have a voice in how funds are allocated. This creates transparency and trust in our local government while encouraging community collaboration and investment in local projects.
**Interviewer:** Moving on to Françoise Abad, her focus on urban planning and mobility is quite broad. What initiatives are you most excited about in this area?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Françoise is indeed vital. We’re currently working on projects aimed at urban renewal and sustainable mobility solutions. One exciting initiative is the redesign of public spaces to facilitate better access for everyone, including improvements to our transportation networks. We want to ensure our city is not only livable but also a model of environmental consciousness.
**Interviewer:** Social affairs and community life are also critical. How is Sabine Ancia contributing to enhancing these aspects?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Sabine brings invaluable expertise in social programs aimed at strengthening community life and inclusivity. Her initiatives focus on citizen participation, improving public health, and supporting families, which are essential for fostering a strong communal bond. It’s about ensuring that all voices are heard, especially the marginalized ones.
**Interviewer:** Samuel Orru’s focus on the environment and cleanliness is vital in today’s climate-conscious world. What are some of the initiatives he is spearheading?
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** Samuel is leading several innovative projects aimed at enhancing our community’s sustainability. From weekly markets that promote local produce to informative campaigns on cleanliness and energy consumption, he’s working hard to raise awareness and encourage responsible behaviors among residents. We believe that a cleaner environment will significantly improve our quality of life.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Mr. Beklevic, for sharing these insights. It sounds like the Municipal College is poised for impactful changes in the community.
**Alpaslan Beklevic:** It’s my pleasure. Together, we’re committed to making our municipality a thriving and inclusive place for all its residents. Thank you for the opportunity to share our vision!
