Samsung continues to illuminate the iconic Las Vegas Strip, enhancing the exhilarating atmosphere of the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2024 through a groundbreaking partnership with Liberty Media and the Las Vegas Grand Prix. As the much-anticipated race kicks off on November 23, spectators at the event and fans tuning in from around the globe will be captivated by the brilliant array of Samsung display technologies adorning the pit building and its vibrant surroundings. This spectacular setup features three colossal grandstand screens, along with dynamic tight pitch displays adorning the entry escalator, and a striking LED display formed in the shape of the iconic F1 logo – a true landmark of brilliance against the breathtaking Las Vegas skyline. The entire installation boasts an astonishing 250,000 LED modules that collectively make up a staggering 35 million pixels—enough digital signage to encircle the legendary street circuit two and a half times.
The cutting-edge pit building, now housed within the newly designated Grand Prix Plaza (GPP), stands as a four-story architectural marvel designed for versatile indoor and outdoor entertainment, ensuring a captivating environment throughout the race festivities. Atop the pit building lies an expansive 28,075-square-foot LED display with remarkable 10mm resolution and over 22 million pixels, stretching an impressive 481 feet—longer than a traditional football field. Installed last year, this dramatic display takes the shape of the F1 logo and allows race organizers and sponsors to present custom creative content that can be seen from above by passengers arriving at Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas and during helicopter tours that skim over the dazzling cityscape.
“Grand Prix Plaza is poised to become the premier hotspot on the Las Vegas Strip for future Formula 1 races and events for years to come,” expressed David Phelps, Head of the Display Division at Samsung Electronics America. “Prepare yourself for a venue where the high-octane excitement of Las Vegas merges flawlessly with cutting-edge Samsung display technology to create an unparalleled experience for every event.”
Strategically positioned LED screens scattered throughout the grandstands ensure that fans remain glued to the action, seamlessly following every moment of the race—from breathtaking overtakes and sharp turns to quick pit stops, including those that last less than three heart-pounding seconds. The impressive 1,480-square-foot LED display mounted on the escalator warmly welcomes fans as they ascend to the second floor of the pit building, delivering a stunning “wow” factor with its engaging and dynamic content. The 9-million-pixel screen is so mesmerizing that many excited fans find themselves stopping to capture the moment with photographs as they arrive at the escalators.
The grandstand and escalator displays are set to be prominently featured in F1’s global broadcasts, including the Campus Show which highlights on-track activities and other supporting series. Before and after the exhilarating track action, fans can indulge in captivating content displayed on the grandstand and escalator screens, showcasing driver highlights, concert footage, engaging venue activities, and photo opportunities alongside partner activations from various locations around the venue.
“Grand Prix Plaza signifies a transformative leap in fan engagement at the Las Vegas Grand Prix,” stated Emily Prazer, F1® and Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. Chief Commercial Officer. “This state-of-the-art venue harmoniously combines the pulsating energy of Formula 1 with immersive digital experiences, enhancing the overall fan experience and providing attendees of all ages an unforgettable race weekend brimming with excitement both on and off the track.”
Throughout the year, Grand Prix Plaza will serve as a premier venue for private events, with the stunning LED screens welcoming and immersing guests in a dazzling display of digital content. Looking ahead to 2025, Grand Prix Plaza plans to creatively utilize the displays for national holidays, including Fourth of July celebrations, Christmas festivities, New Year’s Eve gatherings, and many more exciting occasions.
