In a communication made this Tuesday, the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) brings to the attention of the public that the disruptions in the electricity supply network in certain districts of the 5th district of Libreville, relates to the defect of an underground cable. The immediate consequence of this damage is the disruption observed in the electricity supply mainly in the Mindoubé area. Below, the full SEEG press release.
Since Monday, November 11, 2024, a faulty underground high-voltage cable has caused a series of incidents on the distribution network, resulting in a lack of electrical energy supply to the districts of Mindoubé I & 2, IAI, SMAG , Sogatol, Soduco, Ozoungué, INJS and Lalala on the right, and repercussions on part of the Beau-séjour and Lalala Dakar districts.
Originally, this was an incident linked to the sudden change in the load on the Greater Libreville electricity network. The technical teams mobilized since the incident are working hard to carry out the necessary repairs until the electricity service is fully restored, which should occur as soon as the work is completed.
While remaining mobilized, SEEG expresses its regrets to customers. For any additional information, the Customer Service Center can be reached at 011 76 73 73.
