Lula will be able to travel by plane again three weeks after a blow to the back of the head

Brasilia, Nov 10 (EFE).- The Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, underwent new examinations this Sunday for the blow he suffered in the back of the head three weeks ago and, according to doctors, he no longer has restrictions and can even travel by plane

«He remains symptom-free. The examination showed an improvement in relation to the previous ones and he can maintain his usual activities”, as well as “he has been released for air travel”, according to a bulletin issued by the doctors treating him.

Lula, 79, fell at his official residence on October 19 and suffered a blow to the back of his head, which caused a wound that required five stitches.

Since then he has been under medical observation, although he has gradually resumed his activities and has been working, with some restrictions, at the presidential palace in Brasilia.

One of the doctors’ recommendations was to avoid air travel, but that restriction was lifted this Sunday, so Lula has been released to travel to Rio de Janeiro next weekend and attend the G20 leaders’ summit. which brings together the largest economies in the world and Brazil presides this year.

Due to what the Government called a “domestic accident,” Lula was forced to cancel his attendance at several international events he had on his agenda.

Among them, the summit of the BRICS forum, founded by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, which was held in the Russian city of Kazan, and the UN Summit on Biodiversity (COP16), in the Colombian city of Cali.

Likewise, he suspended his trip to Azerbaijan for the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP29) and the visit he had planned to Peru, for the Leaders Week of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).
