Yes, my friends. I don’t think anyone expected this!
In a new post on your bloganalyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the Goerteka Chinese electronics company, has secured the role of NPI 1 supplier for two new Apple products scheduled for launch in 2026.
The first would be, you see, a smart camera for home usemarking Apple’s entry into this market. According to Kuo, mass production would be scheduled for 2026 and Apple aims for annual sales of more than 10 million units, betting heavily on the integration of this new product with its ecosystem — improving the user experience, focusing on wireless connectivity and integration with Siri.
AirPods with health features
Kuo also spoke again about Apple’s possible new strategy for AirPods, repositioning them as health-focused devices.
Future AirPods will be able to monitor posture, temperature and more
In addition to the recently launched hearing health features, the idea would be to place more sensors in the headphones to give users even more health monitoring capabilities — such as monitoring their heart rate.
This strategy foresees an increase in AirPods sales, from around 48 million units sold in 2023 to up to 68 million in 2026. Goertek would also have been selected to lead the project as a supplier, with a launch scheduled for 2026.
Goertek e Apple
According to Kuo, after facing previous challenges due to compliance issues, Goertek re-established a relationship with Apple in the second half of this year. The achievement of these two projects for 2026 indicates that the partnership has normalized, with expectations of substantial growth in Goertek’s Apple-related business from 2025 onwards.
Investment in new products
Recently, as we mentioned, Apple warned investors that it would be very difficult to create a product as profitable as the iPhone. One of the ideas could be precisely to invest in greater diversification so that, together, this new family of products can maintain the company’s profitability at the same level as today.
A smart home camera could fit perfectly into this — and I wonder if Apple doesn’t regret leaving the router market, as it would also be an interesting domestic product that fits very well with the company’s security and privacy discourse.

**Interview with Tech Analyst Jenifer Torres on Apple’s New Product Developments**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Jenifer! The recent news about Apple’s entry into the smart home market and the potential health features for AirPods has caught everyone’s attention. What are your initial thoughts on this?
**Jenifer Torres:** Thank you for having me! It’s undoubtedly an exciting time for Apple. The decision to debut a smart home camera signals their intent to deepen their ecosystem integration, which is already heavily reliant on products like the iPhone and HomePod. This move could position them well against competitors such as Google and Amazon.
**Editor:** Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that Goertek will be the NPI supplier for this new smart camera. How significant is this partnership for Apple’s strategy?
**Jenifer Torres:** Very significant! Goertek is known for its expertise in manufacturing innovative tech products. By collaborating with them, Apple is not just aiming for high-volume production but also looking to leverage Goertek’s innovation capabilities to create a top-notch camera that seamlessly integrates with Siri and other Apple devices. This could enhance the user experience substantially and drive sales—more than 10 million units annually is ambitious but not out of reach given Apple’s loyal customer base.
**Editor:** You also touched on the potential health features for AirPods. How do you see this shift impacting the market?
**Jenifer Torres:** Repositioning AirPods as health-focused devices is a strategic play for Apple. With increasing consumer interest in health and wellness tech, integrating features like posture monitoring and temperature sensing could elevate AirPods beyond just an audio accessory to a more essential wearable. This could tap into the health-conscious demographic and set a new standard for what consumers expect from earbuds.
**Editor:** What challenges do you think Apple might face with these new products?
**Jenifer Torres:** One major challenge will be competition. The smart home market is already saturated with advanced offerings from established players. Apple will need to ensure their camera not only matches but surpasses the capabilities of competitors. For the AirPods, ensuring reliability and accuracy in health metrics will be critical, as any inaccuracies could diminish trust in the brand.
**Editor:** Great insights, Jenifer! As we await the launches in 2026, what should consumers be most excited about?
**Jenifer Torres:** Consumers should look forward to how these devices will integrate with existing Apple products and the seamless experience Apple is known for. If the smart camera and health-focused AirPods live up to their hype, they could significantly enhance daily life—making technology not just useful but truly personal and tailored to individual health needs.
**Editor:** Thank you for your time, Jenifer! We’ll surely keep an eye on these developments.
**Jenifer Torres:** Thank you for having me! Exciting times ahead for Apple and its users.
