Air Canada’s Summer of 2025: Expanding Horizons
Listen up, travel enthusiasts! Air Canada is spreading its wings wider than ever for the summer of 2025. And I’m not talking about the size of their in-flight snacks—although, let’s face it, that’s always a topic of concern. No, we’re talking serious jet fuel and new routes to exotic destinations that sound like they’ve been snatched right from a travel brochure! From Montreal to Naples and Toronto to Prague, Air Canada is set to take you places, and it looks like they’ve been busy plotting out the most exciting escapes for summer.
More Options, More Fun!
Let’s break it down: Air Canada will be bumping up its capacity to delight travelers flying to popular hotspots in Europe, the United States, and Asia with more than 100,000 weekly seats available to some 30 destinations come peak summer. As Mark Galardo, the executive VP of Air Canada, puts it—“we’re pleased,” and I’d say ‘pleased’ is an understatement! It’s more like a fist-pump kind of excitement!
New routes from Montreal to the breathtaking Amalfi Coast? Yes, please! Or how about some port wine in Porto? Sounds fancy! Not to mention, restoring routes to charming cities like Prague and the iconic London—it’s like having your cake and eating it too, isn’t it? The only thing sweeter than that is a complimentary upgrade in business class—if you’re lucky!
Increased Frequencies
Now, hold onto your boarding passes because Air Canada is not just expanding; they’re going all out! By the northern summer of 2025, they will ramp up flight frequencies to Rome and Athens—you’ll have up to three flights a day. Seriously, it’s like an all-you-can-fly buffet for travelers! And if you’re dreaming of a trip to Paris, you’ll be flying on the swanky Boeing 777-300ER—let’s hope they spare us the stale peanuts on those three daily flights from both Toronto and Montreal!
But wait, there’s more! Air Canada is upping the game with new weekly frequencies flying into Casablanca and a daily lifeline from Toronto to Port of Spain. Grab your beach towel, because summer’s about to get steamy!
Crossing Borders Like a Breeze
For my fellow North American adventurers, Air Canada isn’t leaving you behind. They’ve got an expansion plan for cross-border services that’s got me grinning like a Cheshire cat. New routes are popping up to Nashville from Vancouver and to Cincinnati from Montreal. Honestly, if you can’t find a reason to hop on a plane with all these new options, do you even like traveling?
In total, 160,000 weekly seats will be up for grabs to the US destinations. It’s like Air Canada is saying, “Why not visit all 50 states in a week?”—not that we recommend that… unless you’ve got a serious travel addiction!
Pushing the Pacific Frontier
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, Air Canada is strengthening its offerings for main Asian markets too. Seasonal summer service to Seoul from Montreal and Osaka from Toronto makes for a rather pleasing itinerary for the exotic-minded traveler. Hop on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and you might just feel like royalty as you cross the Pacific!
Galardo wrapped it up nicely, “Serving destinations on all six inhabited continents…” And it’s nice to know that Air Canada wants to make the world feel just a bit smaller. For summer 2025, they’re not just bringing destinations closer to you; they’re promising a travel experience that sounds downright heavenly!

Among the new and restored routes are notable inclusions like Montreal to Naples and Porto, which will open up the stunning Amalfi Coast and the Douro Valley to travelers seeking picturesque landscapes. Additionally, we will see service from Toronto to Prague and Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as renewed connections from Ottawa to London.
“Air Canada is pleased to offer a wide range of destinations for its travel in the summer of 2025. By leveraging our hubs in Toronto and Montreal, we will provide an impressive more than 100,000 weekly seats to 30 destinations in Europe and North Africa during the peak of next summer,” stated Mark Galardo, executive vice president of Air Canada.
“This will include new services from Montreal to Naples and the Amalfi Coast, as well as to Porto and the Douro Valley. These additions will not only open new regions for exploration in southern Europe but also enhance our existing services across the Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula,” he elaborated.
Galardo also expressed enthusiasm stating, “We are excited to resume service to Prague from Toronto, restoring another popular destination on Air Canada’s network, and to London-Heathrow from Ottawa, marking the much-anticipated return of intercontinental flights from Canada’s capital. Additionally, we are thrilled to restore flights from Toronto to Port of Spain, providing year-round service to this vibrant Caribbean destination.”
More frequencies
As summer 2025 approaches, Air Canada will expand its flight frequencies to Rome and Athens, allowing travelers the convenience of up to three daily flights to each cultural hotspot. These added flights reflect the airline’s commitment to facilitating travel for its customers.
Air Canada is also set to bolster services between Toronto and Stockholm, reintroducing up to four weekly frequencies. Furthermore, service between Toronto and Madrid will transition into a daily operation, while Paris will receive enhanced connectivity as a Boeing 777-300ER is deployed from both Toronto and Montreal, collectively providing up to 1,300 seats on three daily flights connecting Canada to the French capital.
Additionally, from Montreal, Air Canada will ramp up service to Casablanca to a daily operation, which represents a 17 percent increase over the volume offered in the summer of 2024. Moreover, a consistent service, operating four times a week, will commence from Toronto to Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago.
Cross-border market
To enhance its cross-border service offerings, Air Canada will introduce new routes to Nashville from Vancouver and Cincinnati from Montreal, complementing existing service routes from Toronto to Ohio and northern Kentucky.
Moreover, the airline will resume the only non-stop service from Toronto to Jacksonville, further catering to travelers looking for convenient options to this destination.
“We will offer 160,000 weekly seats to the US during next summer’s peak,” Galardo noted. “Our expanded cross-border service will build on our leading network along with increased frequencies to seven key US cities.”
He highlighted the advantages for customers: “Air Canada cross-border flights are timed to facilitate seamless connections at major hubs to our international network, and travelers returning to the US will benefit from the convenience of US customs clearance during their connections in Canada.”
In addition to these enhancements, by summer 2025, Air Canada will introduce extra daily frequencies from Toronto to Indianapolis, Boston, Tampa, and Dallas-Fort Worth. From Montreal, an extra daily flight will be added to Denver, Nashville, and Raleigh-Durham, in addition to a more robust schedule to Tampa, now increasing to three daily flights.
Air Canada is poised to provide customers with more than 200 daily flights to over 45 destinations during the summer of 2025, illustrating the airline’s commitment to enhancing travel experiences.
Pacific Region
In a move to bolster its presence in key Asian markets, the airline will reintroduce its seasonal summer service to Seoul from Montreal and Osaka from Toronto, both of which will utilize the advanced technology of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
These flights, commencing in summer 2024, will present travelers with a convenient, non-stop option for journeys between the east coast of North America and the vibrant Asia-Pacific region.
“Serving destinations on all six inhabited continents, Air Canada’s global network continues to be the bridge that brings the world closer together, and we look forward to welcoming our customers on board with our enhanced program for summer 2025,” Galardo concluded.
Of these new routes and added frequencies, emphasizing Air Canada’s commitment to making travel more accessible and convenient for North American passengers.
With these exciting updates, Air Canada is clearly positioning itself to be a strong competitor in the airline industry, catering to the increasing demand for both leisure and business travel as we head into summer 2025.
