The last few years have been dreadful for Max Pacioretty, who has been beset by repeated painful injuries, and it seems that the bad luck is not going to end any time soon.
The Toronto Maple Leafs forward had to leave Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at the end of the first period following a push to the back from Mike Matheson. Pacioretty’s left leg appears to have made a false movement.

The 35-year-old veteran immediately hit his stick on the ice out of frustration and it was with a lot of pain that he returned to the bench. The Leafs later confirmed his game was over.
“It’s sad for Pacioretty, it’s major,” TSN journalist Darren Dreger said Monday morning on the show First Up. This is what I learned yesterday. No one will reveal the details of the injury. I think we can all see he was holding the back of her leg, right? When he fell on the ice, we saw him needing help to get out. We already knew that his pain was considerable.
“Without being specific, the message I received stated that Max was going to be out for a long time,” Dreger continued. We will know more today.”
Everything seems to point in this direction, because the Leafs have included the name of the hockey player concerned on the disabled list, adding that his case will be evaluated on a weekly basis.
Pacioretty came to Toronto this fall on a professional tryout. He convinced the organization to offer him a one-year contract and has done well so far with 6 points in 13 games.
Two torn Achilles tendons forced the former CH captain to miss the equivalent of two full seasons since 2021. He made a comeback last year with the Washington Capitals, amassing 23 points in 47 games.

**Interview with Sports Analyst Jane Doe on Max Pacioretty’s Latest Injury**
**Host:** Welcome back, everyone. Today, we have sports analyst Jane Doe with us to discuss the unfortunate situation surrounding Max Pacioretty. Jane, thanks for joining us.
**Jane Doe:** Thank you for having me! It’s great to be here, though I wish it were under better circumstances.
**Host:** Absolutely. Pacioretty has been through so much in recent years with his injuries. What can you tell us about his latest situation after leaving the game against the Canadiens?
**Jane Doe:** It’s just heartbreaking to see Max go down again. He’s struggled with injuries since his time with Vegas and has been trying to get back on track. The incident on Saturday looked particularly troubling; it seemed like a routine play that turned into an unfortunate moment with Mike Matheson pushing him.
**Host:** Right. Given his history with injuries, including issues with his wrist and an Achilles injury, how do you think this recent injury will affect his season?
**Jane Doe:** Given Max’s past, this could be significant. He’s already had so many setbacks, and this leaves his role on the team in jeopardy. His experience and skill are invaluable, but consistent injuries can affect his confidence and performance. It’s crucial for him to take the necessary time to recover properly rather than rush back.
**Host:** That’s a great point. Do you believe the Toronto Maple Leafs will adjust their strategy if he has to spend more time on the sidelines?
**Jane Doe:** Definitely. The team has a lot of depth, but losing a player of Pacioretty’s caliber can change their dynamics. They may need to lean more on younger players or alter their line combinations to fill that gap. It’s a tough challenge for any team, especially as they aim for playoffs.
**Host:** What advice would you give to Pacioretty as he navigates through this setback?
**Jane Doe:** I’d advise him to focus on his recovery first and foremost. It’s so important for athletes to not only heal physically but also mentally from these injuries. Engaging with the team, staying in shape conditionally, and finding ways to maintain confidence can be vital during this rehabilitation process.
**Host:** Wise words, Jane. Thank you for shedding light on Max Pacioretty’s situation. We hope to see him back on the ice, healthy and strong, soon.
**Jane Doe:** Thanks for having me. Here’s hoping for a swift recovery for Max!
