A meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee has been held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, in which it has been decided to give the lead role to the police regarding law and order.
The apex committee meeting held on Thursday was attended by the Provincial Finance Minister, Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary and IG Police besides top civil and military officials.
In the meeting, the overall law and order situation in the province was reviewed in detail and important decisions were taken regarding the bad law and order situation and the new action plan regarding the districts.
In the meeting, Fatiha was recited for the martyrs of security, forces and law enforcement agencies in various events and tributes were paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace and order.
The meeting emphasized the need to continue the joint efforts of the civil government, security forces and the people.
In the meeting, it was decided to give a lead role to the police regarding law and order in some districts of the province. It was agreed to increase the capacity of the police and civil administration for the improvement of law and order in the province.
It was decided to provide bullet-proof vehicles to the police and to recruit the vacant posts.
Taking an important step for the families of martyrs of the security forces, the Chief Minister decided to give a package to the families of 178 martyrs of the security forces who were martyred during six months. It was decided to give Rs 10 lakh to the families of martyred soldiers and Rs 20 lakh to the families of officers.
In the meeting, it was also decided to recruit the children of Pakistan Army and FC martyrs in police and government departments.
In the meeting, a special discussion was held on the current law and order situation in Karam district and a detailed review of the law and order situation, reasons and motivations in Karam was done. It was decided to use all the options available for the establishment of law and order in the area, protection of lives and property of the people and the functioning of the government.
The forum agreed to improve the quality of life of the people of the merged districts, giving special attention to socio-economic development. It was also agreed to spend more financial resources for rapid social development in the merged districts.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has hired the services of the Pakistan Army under Article 245 of the Constitution for anti-terrorism operations.
