In an effort to rejuvenate his appearance, Scott decided to dye his gray-flecked beard an intense black tone, as reported by the media agency Jam Press.
– I tried to dye my beard to look younger to my wife, who is twelve years younger than me, says Scott.
Drank a protein shake – ended up in a coma
However, the following morning, the 50-year-old father from New Hampshire awoke in excruciating pain.
– It felt as if someone had hit me in the head with an anvil. It was absolutely horrible, he says.
Got a scary message
Upon seeing him, his wife Katherine was horrified at his appearance.
– “You look like ‘Sloth’ from ‘Goonies’,” she exclaimed in shock, insisting he seek immediate medical attention.
Scott himself says that he felt he resembled the cartoon character Skipper’n.
– The pillow was yellow with plaster. I was dizzy, foggy, and confused, he recalls vividly.
At the hospital, Scott received alarming news: he had experienced anaphylactic shock, a life-threatening allergic reaction.
Unbeknownst to him, he was sensitive to a chemical compound present in the beard dye.
– I could have died, he says.
