Ex-partner (33) killed? Suspect in custody

He is suspected of having killed his 33-year-old ex-partner, with whom he has three underage children, on Thursday at the airport. He will be held in custody pending his extradition to Slovenia, said the spokeswoman for the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office upon request.

Three children with foster parents

The man suspected of murder was arrested on Saturday in his apartment in Klagenfurt on the basis of a European arrest warrant. He is said to have stabbed the 33-year-old woman, who was born in Iran and also lived in Klagenfurt, on Thursday. The man must be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. According to the public prosecutor’s office, he had three children with the Iranian woman, aged five, seven and 14. They were placed in out-of-home care by the youth welfare office in Carinthia.

Body found in parking lot

According to Slovenian media, the woman’s body, which was discovered in the parking lot of Ljubljana airport on Thursday morning, had multiple stab wounds. The Klagenfurt public prosecutor confirmed that the instrument of the crime was a knife. During questioning, the suspect confessed. It could take “several weeks” for the handover to Slovenia, as Sandra Agnoli, spokeswoman for the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office, said.
