“It’s always nice to go back to Burgenland – but being able to set off back home with my wife Julia so close to the national holiday (on Monday, note) makes me particularly happy,” he shared Facebook with.
Doskozil thanked him for the “support and numerous wishes for recovery” after the corrective surgery on the larynx. “I’m doing very well given the circumstances,” he reported. He can already work internally again, is in close contact with his team and will soon have his first appointments in his office. “I’m looking forward to the state holiday, on which we traditionally reflect on what shapes Burgenland and makes it successful: cohesion, hard work and optimism,” said the SPÖ politician.
This was the eighth operation for Doskozil due to an ossification of the larynx. The operation in Leipzig took place in time for the state elections on January 19, 2025 in Burgenland. The governor’s budget speech planned for next Thursday has been postponed.

**Doskozil:** Thank you for having me! I’m doing very well given the circumstances. This recent corrective surgery on my larynx was my eighth operation due to ossification, but I’m already back in close contact with my team and ready to resume my duties.
**Interviewer:** It’s great to hear that you’re recovering well. You mentioned on Facebook that you’re particularly happy to return home to Burgenland with your wife Julia just before the national holiday. Why is that significant for you?
