The Israeli army reported on Friday (8/11) morning that it had successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen towards its southern region.

“Regarding warnings in the Dead Sea and north of Eilat, one missile launched from Yemen was successfully intercepted,” the Israeli army confirmed in a statement.

No damage or casualties were reported in the area.

However, there has been no official response from the Houthi movement in Yemen. The Houthis previously claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone attacks on Israel in solidarity with Gaza.

Israel has continued to launch devastating attacks on the Gaza Strip since the attack carried out by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, on October 7 2023. The onslaught has killed nearly 43,500 victims and made the enclave almost uninhabitable.

Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in the blockaded enclave. (Anadolu/Z-2)

**Interview⁣ with Dr. Jane Smith, Climate Scientist, ‌on‍ Recent Environmental Changes**

**Host:** Welcome, Dr. Jane Smith! Thank you for joining us‌ today.‌

**Dr. Smith:** Thanks for having me! I’m excited to ⁣discuss these⁢ pressing issues.

**Host:** Let’s dive right in. Recently, there have been alarming reports about significant environmental ⁣changes. Can you⁢ give us a brief overview of ‌what’s happening?

**Dr.‍ Smith:** Certainly. We are witnessing accelerated climate change, primarily due to human activities. This includes increased greenhouse ‍gas emissions ⁢leading to rising temperatures, melting ice caps, and extreme weather events‍ becoming more frequent and severe.

**Host:** That’s quite concerning. What specific changes have you ⁤observed in recent studies?

**Dr. Smith:** We’ve⁣ seen unprecedented temperatures across various regions, for instance. The Arctic is warming at a rate nearly⁤ twice as fast as the global average. Additionally,⁢ we’re experiencing more intense hurricanes‍ and ⁤longer droughts, impacting both ecosystems and human communities.

**Host:** How is this affecting wildlife and natural habitats?

**Dr.‍ Smith:** The impact on wildlife is profound. Many species are struggling ⁣to ⁣adapt⁣ to rapidly changing environments. In ‌some cases, entire ecosystems are collapsing. For example, coral reefs ⁢are⁤ suffering ⁣from bleaching due to warmer waters. This not only affects⁤ marine life but also the communities that rely on these ecosystems for their livelihoods.

**Host:** What steps can communities take to mitigate these ⁢impacts?

**Dr. Smith:** ‍Communities can take various actions, such⁤ as reducing carbon footprints,‍ promoting renewable⁣ energy sources, and supporting sustainable‍ practices in agriculture. Importantly, engaging in local conservation ⁢efforts can make a significant difference.

**Host:** What can ⁢individuals do to contribute?

**Dr. Smith:** Individuals can educate themselves ‌and others about climate ⁢issues, reduce ‍waste, use energy-efficient appliances, and advocate for policies that promote sustainability. Every small effort counts.

**Host:** what message would you like ‌to leave our audience with?

**Dr. Smith:** Climate change is a global⁢ challenge, but together, we can make a difference. It’s crucial to‌ stay‍ informed, take action, ⁤and support initiatives aimed at‌ protecting our planet for future generations.

**Host:** Thank you, Dr. ‌Smith, for shedding⁤ light on these urgent issues. We appreciate your time and ⁣insights.

**Dr. Smith:** Thank you for having me!
