The narrative of the manga explores the bizarre yet humorous everyday experiences of the peculiar office worker Shigeru and his generous boss, providing a delightful glimpse into office life filled with unusual encounters. In the inaugural episode titled “Singapore,” viewers can join Shigeru and his boss as they attempt to solve the enigma of a mysterious lever, adding an air of curiosity and intrigue to the storyline.
The creative journey of this anime will also extend to Tokyu train lines, where it will be featured on in-train displays starting November 18, reaching fans in a unique way as they commute.
First launched on Twitter (also known as X) in 2013, Tanaka’s manga quickly gained viral popularity in Japan. Following its success, Pony Canyon and later, Kodansha, began compiling and publishing the manga into book formats, starting in 2014, further solidifying its presence in the manga community.
At the helm of this anime project is director Junichi Yamamoto, known for his work on notable titles such as Haigakura, Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, and Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen. The animation is skillfully produced by artists Kawasin, Keizō Abe, and Ryūsuke Mutō, with TOKIFUDE (Gataket) responsible for the mesmerizing 2D artwork. In terms of sound design, Hiroki Nozaki and Airi Kobayashi are responsible for crafting the sound effects, while the musical score is being composed by Keiji Inai. Sound production is credited to RD, ensuring that every auditory detail enhances the viewing experience.
