**Interview with Herman Khaeron, Member of Commission VI DPR RI, on Strengthening LPDB-KUMKM for Cooperative Financing in Indonesia**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Khaeron. It’s clear that LPDB-KUMKM plays a crucial role in providing financing for cooperatives in Indonesia. Can you explain why the DPR is prioritizing the strengthening of this institution?
**Herman Khaeron:** Thank you for having me. The LPDB-KUMKM has proven to be a foundational pillar for cooperative finance in Indonesia. We believe that by enhancing its organizational structure and performance, we can ensure that financial support reaches more cooperatives across the country. This is vital for fostering economic growth, especially among micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
**Interviewer:** You mentioned the importance of expanding the distribution of revolving funds. What specific measures are you advocating for to achieve this?
**Herman Khaeron:** We’re advocating for the establishment of more task forces in various provinces. Currently, LPDB-KUMKM’s operations are concentrated in a few cities. By deploying additional task forces, we aim to strengthen the presence of cooperatives in underserved regions so that they can access the financial resources they need to thrive.
**Interviewer:** In your meeting with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, what were some of the key points raised regarding the future of LPDB-KUMKM?
**Herman Khaeron:** One significant point was the need for ongoing socialization and outreach to educate potential cooperatives about available financing options. The support from LPDB-KUMKM should not only focus on existing cooperatives but also encourage the establishment of new ones, especially those with productive potential.
**Interviewer:** How would you assess the current role of LPDB-KUMKM in supporting cooperatives, and what improvements do you foresee in the near future?
**Herman Khaeron:** The current role of LPDB-KUMKM is commendable, but there is always room for improvement. We envision a more robust system that not only provides funding but also actively engages with cooperatives to offer guidance and training. This holistic approach will empower cooperatives to become more self-sufficient and sustainable.
**Interviewer:** Lastly, what message would you like to convey to cooperative members across Indonesia regarding the DPR’s commitment to LPDB-KUMKM?
**Herman Khaeron:** We want cooperative members to know that the DPR is fully committed to strengthening LPDB-KUMKM as a vital resource for their financial needs. We appreciate their hard work and dedication and assure them that we are working diligently to enhance the support systems that will enable them to succeed.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Mr. Khaeron, for sharing your insights on this important matter. We look forward to seeing the positive changes in cooperative financing in Indonesia.
**Herman Khaeron:** Thank you for having me; it’s been a pleasure.
