**Interview with Thomas Wallner: A New Chapter in Life**
**Editor:** Good afternoon, Thomas. Thank you for joining us today. We recently learned about your decision to leave professional football due to your personal beliefs. Can you share with us what led to this significant change?
**Thomas Wallner:** Thank you for having me. It’s been quite a journey, but ultimately, my faith has played a huge role in my decision. I’ve come to embrace my beliefs as a “believing Christian,” and I feel a strong calling to follow Jesus Christ. For me, that means honoring the biblical day of rest on Saturdays and not participating in professional football on that day.
**Editor:** That’s a brave choice, especially at such a young age and early in your career. How did your club, and your teammates, react to this decision?
**Thomas Wallner:** The club was understanding, and it’s clear they respect my convictions. My teammates were supportive, too. It’s tough to part ways, especially after joining just a few months ago from FC Zurich, but I believe this is the right path for me.
**Editor:** You mentioned the importance of your faith. How do you see your future now, beyond football?
**Thomas Wallner:** I’m currently exploring new opportunities that align with my beliefs and values. While I’m stepping away from professional football, I believe there are many other ways to contribute positively to the community and perhaps even share my journey of faith with others.
**Editor:** That’s inspiring, Thomas. what message would you like to convey to young athletes who might be grappling with similar decisions regarding their beliefs and careers?
**Thomas Wallner:** I’d say it’s essential to stay true to yourself. No career is worth sacrificing your convictions for. Listen to your heart, and don’t be afraid to take a stand for what you believe in, even if it means making tough choices. There will always be new paths and possibilities waiting for you.
**Editor:** Thank you, Thomas, for sharing your story. We wish you all the best in this new chapter of your life.
**Thomas Wallner:** Thank you! I appreciate your support.
