Pumas produced an efficient performance as they beat a disoriented Italy side 50-18 at the Estadio Friuli in Udine in their first game of the November transfer window.
Argentina notched its ninth straight win against the national team thanks to seven attempts to Italy’s two and 22 points from fly half and scorer Tomas Albonos .
It was Argentina’s biggest victory over Italy in 24 games.
Dictators don’t like this
The practice of professional and critical journalism is a fundamental pillar of democracy. That’s why it bothers those who think they have the truth.
The Pumas handed South Africa their only defeat at the last Rugby Championship but have been leading the table, leading Italy (17-13) with a 17-0 win.
But an increase in mistakes, goals conceded and poor decisions in the second half by former Argentina international Gonzalo Quesada’s side left a clear path for Pumas.
The national team dominated the game from the start, with solid performances on both offense and defense. Argentina opened the scoring quickly with Tomas Albonos’ penalty four minutes later and then had multiple shots on goal throughout the game.
Even so, the team led by Gonzalo Quesada managed to get into their opponents’ territory and control the ball, but also managed to be neutralized by tackles and melees.
Although the game started out as a back-and-forth affair, the team led by Felipe Contepomi took advantage of their opponents’ defensive mistakes and put tremendous pressure on the Bleus.
For Italy, in the first half, Juan Martin Gonzalez was fouled just centimeters from goal, and the local team responded with a penalty, resulting in him receiving a yellow card.
Regardless, the home team could not match the Pumas’ attacking power and although Tommaso Allan took a penalty kick for Italy, they still trailed 17-10 and Argentina continued to dominate in the second half.
The Italian team scored another goal towards the end of the game, but it was not enough to turn the game around. Matias Alemanno and Bautista Delgui finally extended their advantage over their opponents.
Other notable scorers for Argentina include Juan Cruz María, Gonzalo Beltranu, Joel Sklavi, Tomas Albonos and Santiago Cordero.
Albonos had excellent conversion accuracy, scoring in six attempts for his side.
Australia beat England
Australia endured a thrilling test at Twickenham yesterday, beating England 42-37 with a last-ditch stoppage time move as the Kangaroos have not won at Twickenham for nine years. .
England, who had already narrowly lost to New Zealand (24-22) last weekend, scored with their fifth try from Maro Itoje in the 80th minute, but Max Jorgense (80+4) responded for the visiting team.
Australia have not beaten De La Rosa at Twickenham since a 33-13 victory in the 2015 World Cup group stage and have lost 10 of their 11 games against England since then.
