**Interview with Wahab Riaz, Former Cricketer and Chief Selector of Pakistan Cricket Team**
**Interviewer:** Welcome, Wahab. Thank you for joining us. There has been a lot of discussion recently regarding your comments about Haris Rauf opting out of the Test squad for the Australia series. Can you share your thoughts on this situation?
**Wahab Riaz:** Thank you for having me. Yes, I was quite disappointed to see Haris Rauf decide to step back from the Test matches against Australia. As a player, representing your country in all formats should be a priority, especially in challenging series like this one.
**Interviewer:** What were the key reasons behind your critique of Rauf’s decision?
**Wahab Riaz:** My main concern is about commitment. Test cricket is the pinnacle of our sport, and players should embrace every opportunity to showcase their talent on the international stage. By opting out, I believe Haris is missing out on valuable experience that could help him grow as a cricketer.
**Interviewer:** Do you think this could affect Rauf’s future with the national team?
**Wahab Riaz:** Absolutely. The selectors are always looking for players who are fully committed to the team. Decisions like these could influence their view on a player’s dedication and reliability in the long run.
**Interviewer:** Looking ahead, how do you think Pakistan can approach the Australia series without Rauf?
**Wahab Riaz:** It’s crucial for the remaining squad members to step up and fill the gap. We have a talented pool of fast bowlers, and this is an opportunity for them to prove themselves. The coaching staff will also need to strategize effectively to adapt to the absence of key players.
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Wahab, for your insights. It will be interesting to see how the team performs in these Tests.
**Wahab Riaz:** Thank you! I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts. Let’s hope for a successful series for Pakistan.
