**Interview with Syed Jalal Wazir, Chairman of the Police Force Ittehad from ‍Khyber District**

**Interviewer:** Thank you for ⁢joining us, Mr. Wazir. Can you explain the current⁢ situation regarding the polio vaccination campaign ⁢in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?

**Syed Jalal Wazir:** Thank you for having me. Currently, the polio vaccination campaign has been halted in ⁤several tribal areas, including Khyber and Mohmand, due to the police force’s refusal to provide security for the vaccination teams. ⁤This decision stems from ongoing⁢ negotiations regarding our demands as members of the tribal⁣ police force.

**Interviewer:**⁣ Can you elaborate on the ⁤demands that led to this situation?

**Syed Jalal Wazir:** Certainly. ⁤We have outlined 22 demands that address disparities in‌ our service structure compared to ⁢other police forces in the province. We believe that if ⁤the government is integrating‌ the Levies ⁣and Khasadar forces into the regular police, ⁤we should receive⁤ the same benefits and privileges without any conditions.⁤ Additionally, there⁢ are cultural considerations, such as our traditional dress code, which we wish to maintain.

**Interviewer:** There seems ⁢to be a severe impact ⁢on public health due‍ to this decision. How do you reconcile‌ the need for ‌security with the urgency of the polio ⁣vaccination campaign?

**Syed ‍Jalal Wazir:** We understand the gravity of the polio situation—it’s a critical health issue. However, our call for a boycott is a direct response to what we see as ongoing neglect ‍of our ⁣rights and welfare. We are currently in discussions with provincial government officials and hope to resolve these issues swiftly⁤ so that we can resume our ⁤duties and support ‍the vaccination campaign.

**Interviewer:** What do you ‌think ⁤the ‌next steps will be from the provincial government?

**Syed Jalal Wazir:** We are expecting a prompt response from the provincial government regarding our demands. The Caretaker Chief ⁤Minister Azam Khan has⁢ already taken notice ⁤of the situation and has requested a report from the Inspector General of Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It’s‍ essential that both sides engage constructively to⁤ ensure that we can provide the security necessary for the polio teams to safely operate.

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Mr. Wazir, for sharing ⁢your⁢ insights. It’s a complex situation that intertwines ⁢public health and the rights of ⁢your ⁣police ⁣force.

**Syed Jalal Wazir:** ⁣Thank you‍ for bringing attention to⁣ this issue. We hope ‌to reach a resolution that will allow us to protect the health of our communities while also‍ ensuring fair treatment for the police force in tribal areas.
