**Interview with Doris Hummer, Re-elected State Chairwoman of the Upper Austrian Economic Association**
**Interviewer:** Doris, congratulations on your re-election as state chairwoman. You’ve received strong support from both your peers and the community. What do you believe are the key elements that contributed to your successful re-election?
**Doris Hummer:** Thank you! I believe my team’s commitment to addressing the pressing challenges faced by our local businesses, focusing on skilled worker retention, digitalization, and sustainable growth, resonated with many stakeholders in Upper Austria. We’ve worked hard to create initiatives that empower companies and drive forward our economic landscape.
**Interviewer:** You mention addressing challenges for local businesses. With the rapidly evolving economic climate, how do you foresee the balance between fostering growth and ensuring sustainability in the region?
**Doris Hummer:** It’s crucial to integrate sustainability into our growth strategies. I see it as an opportunity rather than a constraint. By investing in innovative technologies and sustainable practices, we can enhance competitiveness while also being responsible stewards of our environment. This approach can create new jobs and drive economic resilience.
**Interviewer:** Some critics argue that while initiatives like digitalization are important, they often overlook the needs of smaller businesses which may struggle to keep up. How do you plan to address these concerns?
**Doris Hummer:** That’s a valid point. Our strategy includes tailored support for smaller enterprises to ensure they have access to the resources and training needed to effectively implement digital tools. We must ensure that no business is left behind in this transition.
**Interviewer:** As you embark on another term, what specific initiatives can we expect to see from you that further support Upper Austria’s competitiveness?
**Doris Hummer:** We will focus on building strategic partnerships with educational institutions to align skill development with market needs, enhancing our vocational training programs, and amplifying our efforts in fostering innovation hubs. I also aim to facilitate more dialogue between large corporations and small businesses to share best practices.
**Interviewer:** That sounds promising! Given your commitment to these initiatives, do you think there’s a growing concern among citizens about the implications of rapid economic changes? How can we engage the public in this dialogue?
**Doris Hummer:** Absolutely, engaging the public is essential. We need to hold forums and workshops where community members can voice their concerns and contribute ideas. It’s important that citizens feel involved and informed about the changes happening in our economy, so we can collaboratively develop solutions that work for everyone.
**Interviewer:** what message would you like to share with our readers about the future of Upper Austrian businesses?
**Doris Hummer:** I want to convey hope and resilience. Together, with active participation from all sectors, we can navigate these challenges. The future of Upper Austria’s economy lies in our ability to innovate, adapt, and work together. Let’s build a thriving economy that’s sustainable and inclusive for all.
**Discussion Point for Readers:** Given Doris Hummer’s focus on sustainability and digitalization in the economy, how do you see these initiatives affecting smaller businesses in Upper Austria? Do you think enough is being done to support them, or are further measures necessary?
