The DIRECTORATE General of Politics and General Government (Ditjen Politics and PUM) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Directorate of Community Organizations, held Social Community Communication activities and Discussion of Strategic Issues in the Field of Community Organizations at the Asyana Sentul Hotel, Bogor Regency, Friday (8 /10).
This activity was attended by around 100 participants consisting of leaders and staff of the Directorate of Community Organizations, Directorate General of Politics and PUM, as well as representatives of Community Organizations (Ormas).

This forum was opened by the Acting Director of Community Organizations, Abdul Gafur, who represented the Director of Community Organizations, Directorate General of Politics and PUM, Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia/Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Risnandar Mahiwa.

In his speech, Abdul Gafur emphasized the importance of the involvement of mass organizations in transforming to face future challenges.
“This forum involves the secretariat of the Integrated Team along with several mass organizations such as the FITRA National Secretariat, the Cerah Indonesia Foundation, and the Fahmina Foundation, with the aim of strengthening the ability of mass organizations to transform amidst the challenges of changing times,” he said.

This event presented various speakers who provided diverse perspectives. Edang Kendana, Associate Expert Widyaiswara from BPSDM Ministry of Home Affairs, presented material on “Measuring and Increasing HR Capacity.”
Apart from that, representatives from the Bright Indonesia Foundation, FITRA National Secretariat, Fahmina Foundation, and Julia from The Habibie Center Foundation Program also shared their views, including regarding the “Energy Transition Roadmap in Indonesia.” This activity also involved the Bani Abdurahman Wahid Foundation.

Through discussions and views obtained in this forum, the Directorate General of Politics and PUM hope to formulate more comprehensive policies to support the role of mass organizations in building an inclusive and resilient society.
“It is hoped that the results of this activity will be the first step in creating effective synergy between the government and mass organizations in Indonesia,” added Abdul Gafur.
