The store will be open to customers from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. The new store has a format that is very familiar to Lidl customers, but due to the shape of the plot, it is designed to be a bit wider, as well as with a larger glass window facing the main street of the city.
The store will have both standard and self-service checkouts, all of which are XXL in size and perfectly suited for larger purchases. The new store is also convenient for those who drive electric cars, as it has four slow and one fast charging stations for electric cars.
“We are happy with the establishment of the Lidl shopping center, it is the largest investment by a foreign company in Jurbarka. The investments of German companies are extremely important for us because of the jobs they create and their contribution to managing the city’s infrastructure,” said Skirmantas Mockevičius, the mayor of the Jurbarka district municipality, during the opening of the shopping center.
Investments in the improvement of city infrastructure
When opening a new store, the retail chain also invested in improving the local infrastructure, which will serve both car transport and walking. Not only street lighting, but also street lighting will contribute to safety.
The retail network took care of repairing the sidewalk in the section between Darius and Girėnos streets. 81A and 83 – a new concrete paving, new street lighting was installed here. Also at the parking lot at Darius and Girėnos st. 81A and installed new light fixtures. Darius and Girėno str. the pedestrian crossing was moved and reorganized – it became safer, because a raised one was formed and its separate lighting was installed.
A pedestrian path has also been installed near the store lot from K. Donelaičio st. half towards Darius and Girėnos st. A closed goods delivery ramp with acoustic panels and an acoustic wall is installed near the store.
There is a convenient 94-space parking lot next to the store. In order to enliven its appearance, the parking lot was replaced with a colored concrete pavers instead of the usual asphalt.
