XXVII Executive Digest Conference: The Heavyweights of Business Take the Stage
Get ready to roll out the red carpet because the XXVII Executive Digest Conference is back and bigger than ever! On November 15th at Culturgest, Lisbon, two titans of industry will grace the stage: Rui Lopes Ferreira, CEO of Super Bock Group, and João Sousa, Administrator of CTT. Talk about a line-up that’s thirst-quenching!
The Men Behind the Brands
First up, we have Rui Lopes Ferreira—talk about a career path! This guy started out in the auditing trenches back in ’85. Coopers & Lybrand probably thought they were just hiring an accountant. Fast forward a few decades, and he’s now the big cheese at Super Bock Group! Who knew a beer company could have such a CFO? We’ve gone from ‘crunching numbers’ to ‘crunching hops,’ eh Rui?
After spending two decades at BPI, managing everything but the water cooler gossip (seriously, 20 years is like an eternity in corporate time), he took his talents to Vista Alegre Atlantis and ultimately to Unicer before stepping into his role as the head of Super Bock. It’s almost like being the CEO is just the promotion he got for always being the last to leave after happy hour!
CTT’s Ace in the Hole
Now, let’s move on to João Sousa because, let’s face it, postal services need all the pizzazz they can get in today’s digital world. As an executive member of the Board of Directors of Altice Portugal, he steered the ship when they were still known as Portugal Telecom. Picture him at meetings, tossing around the word “synergy” while thinking about how to make that one boring package look fabulous!
Since 2019, he’s been raking in the accolades over at CTT, focusing on revenue like it’s the last slice of pizza at a corporate meeting. But before you think he’s just a glorified postman, let’s not forget his impressive history with telecom giants. This guy has managed enough data centers to make even the nerdiest IT department blush!
What to Expect: Insights and Innovations
The conference will run from 9am to 1pm, and while we wait for further information on themes and speakers, you can bet your bottom dollar that these two will be dishing out insights that might just change the way we see business. Or at the very least, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for beer and efficient mail delivery!
Thanks to Our Sponsors!
This magnificent conference wouldn’t be popping off without the support of industry giants like Altice, Capgemini, and Unilever. So, a big shout-out to all the sponsors who make it happen! And let’s face it, without them, we’d probably just have a couple of slightly awkward people mumbling to each other about spreadsheets.
Rui Lopes Ferreira, the insightful CEO of Super Bock Group, along with João Sousa, a prominent Administrator of CTT, have been officially confirmed as distinguished speakers for the XXVII Executive Digest Conference. This anticipated event is scheduled to unfold on November 15th at the prestigious Culturgest venue in Lisbon, a city known for its vibrant business atmosphere.

In 2004, while serving as an Executive Manager at Private Equity BPI, Ferreira took on the pivotal role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Vista Alegre Atlantis. Following that, he served as CFO for Unicer from August 2006 until July 2015. His illustrious career culminated in 2015 when he ascended to the CEO position at the Super Bock Group, a role he continues to fulfill with excellence. Ferreira earned his degree in Economics from the esteemed Faculty of Economics of Porto, later enhancing his executive expertise through an Advanced Management Program at INSEAD in 2001 and a Senior Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School in 2019.
Since 2015, João Sousa has been making significant contributions in leadership roles, notably as an executive member of the Board of Directors at Altice Portugal (previously known as Portugal Telecom). There, he excelled as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, and later, he served as CEO of PT Cloud and Data Centers as well as the Portugal Telecom Data Center. After joining the CTT Board of Directors in 2019, he has been integral to the Executive Committee, overseeing the revenue area as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). His substantive involvement also spans several subsidiaries of the CTT Group, where he holds leadership positions on the Board of Directors. Sousa’s career launchpad was at Marconi, followed by significant positions at Teleweb and the Grupo Portugal Telecom, now part of Altice Portugal, where he developed his skills in management and directorship.
