Fuerteventura Film Exhibition: Free Entry Until November 21 at Casa del Zapatero

Fuerteventura: The Ultimate Film Set!

Well, well, well! If it isn’t the Canary Islands rolling out the red carpet—at the Casa del Zapatero, no less—where you can saunter in for free until November 21! Oh, who needs Hollywood when you’ve got Fuerteventura? It’s like finding a Michelin-starred restaurant in a food truck festival; unexpected yet utterly delightful!

Lights, Camera, Action!

The traveling exhibition ‘Fuerteventura, Natural Film Set’ is popping up around town, like an over-eager tourist who can’t take a hint. After taking a stroll through Puerto del Rosario, Corralejo, and Antigua, it’s now flaunting its stuff in Betancuria, just waiting for you to come admire its cinematic gems! But hurry, darling—it’s only here until the 21st! It’s like that friend who wears the same outfit every weekend—if you don’t see it now, you might have to suffer through it again next month!

Meet and Greet with the Stars (Sort Of)

The exhibition kicked off with a snazzy gathering featuring Nereida Calero, the advisor of the Fuerteventura Film Commission, alongside the local dignitaries, Enrique Cerdeña and his brother, José Cerdeña. Honestly, I’d be tempted to whip out the popcorn just for that trio—talk about a municipal power struggle! But instead, we have films that shook the world, and some that, well, probably had a slightly more niche fan base!

The Itinerary of Cinematic Wonders

This exhibition isn’t just a one-stop-shop; it plans to take a whirlwind tour across the island like a celebrity on a publicity blitz. After Betancuria, it’ll be making its way to the Morro Jable Bus Station from November 26 to December 10—because there’s nothing like a bus station to make you feel like a movie star! And then off to the Gran Tarajal Library from December 16 to 30, bringing some much-needed glam to the shelves. Who knew getting your literary fix could coincide with admiring film history? See, libraries can be fun!

A Cinematic Thank You

This exhibition isn’t just a show-off of pretty pictures and film trivia; it’s a heartfelt shoutout to the audiovisual sector and its unwavering effort to make Fuerteventura a cinematic hotshot destination! Recent productions like Wonder Woman 1984 and Han Solo: A Star Wars Story prove that Fuerteventura has more than just stunning landscapes; it’s got the grit and glitz to back it up! And speaking of grit, we’ve got national productions that sound like new-age hipster bands: 30 Coins and Milk Men. I mean, could they be any more obscure? You can almost hear the pretentious art-house cinephiles swooning!

Why You Shouldn’t Miss This

So there you have it—if you’ve ever fancied yourself an extra in a blockbuster or simply want to gaze into the less-seen side of cinema, this exhibition is right up your alley. With a mix of unseen photographs and behind-the-scenes action shots, it’s basically the paparazzi getting a peek behind the curtain (minus the fuzzy, grainy quality—we’re all about high-def here!).

Time to unleash your inner film buff—grab those monocles and prepare for some serious aspiring director vibes! And remember, folks: while it might not be a glamorous film set, it’s a heck of a lot more exciting than watching Netflix in your pajamas for the seventh straight day. So dust off those walking shoes and pop down to see what the fuss is all about before you regret not going when it was in your town!

Now, go on, enjoy the show! Lights, camera, action awaits!
