THE Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab), Banten, has prepared a technical team to go directly to the field to investigate the causes of the landslide disaster that cut off village roads in the area.
Head of the Tangerang Regency Spatial Planning and Building Service Hendri Gunawan in Tangerang, Wednesday (6/11), said that the first step in carrying out the research was to directly check the conditions of the locations affected by the landslide disaster.
“We will bring in a team of experts from ITB to conduct research, we will also provide emergency treatment first so that landslides don’t happen again,” he said.

He revealed that this research effort needs to be carried out to find out the causes and conditions of the land in the area, because landslides often occur during the rainy season, even now there is still ground movement.
“Then the experts will be able to conclude, what is clear is that we will coordinate with the River Region Center (BBWS), because this is also their authority regarding rivers,” he explained.
He said that from the results of field inspections, there was damage caused by the landslide disaster, namely road infrastructure, houses and surrounding community facilities.

The government, he continued, will immediately repair public facilities damaged by landslides through proposed development planning deliberations. “What is clear is that tomorrow experts from ITB will probably check again to ensure that there are no further landslides.”
Hendri added that regarding the construction of a residential area carried out by the developer at the location of the landslide disaster, it had been carried out before the incident occurred, where his party claimed that the developer had carried out environmental impact analysis or Amdal testing in accordance with the regulations.
“That’s it, it’s just that the distance from the river to the housing is safe, from the AMDAL position it’s safe, so tomorrow the experts will first examine what kind of temporary solution to handle,” he said.

**Interview with Hendri Gunawan, Head of the Tangerang Regency Spatial Planning and Building Service**
**Interviewer**: Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Gunawan. Can you tell us what triggered the recent landslides in South Tangerang?
**Hendri Gunawan**: Thank you for having me. The recent landslides were primarily caused by heavy rains that have hit the region. Excessive rainfall leads to soil saturation, which ultimately results in landslides, especially in areas that are already vulnerable due to their topography and infrastructure.
**Interviewer**: I understand that a technical team is being deployed to investigate these incidents. What will the team specifically focus on?
**Hendri Gunawan**: Our first step is to conduct a thorough field assessment of the affected areas. We have engaged experts from the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) to assist us in examining the soil conditions, geological factors, and other environmental elements that contribute to landslides in the area.
**Interviewer**: That sounds comprehensive. How does the local government plan to prevent future landslides?
**Hendri Gunawan**: We are prioritizing emergency interventions to stabilize the area immediately. In addition to that, we will be coordinating with the River Region Center to ensure proper management of water flow, as proper drainage is crucial for preventing further landslide incidents.
**Interviewer**: Are there any community resources being offered to those affected?
**Hendri Gunawan**: Yes, we are providing temporary shelter and assistance to affected residents. Our goal is to ensure their safety and facilitate any necessary aid while we work on long-term prevention strategies.
**Interviewer**: Thank you, Mr. Gunawan, for sharing these insights. It’s clear that a multifaceted approach is necessary to tackle this issue. We hope for a swift recovery for those impacted.
**Hendri Gunawan**: Thank you, and we appreciate the public’s support as we work towards mitigating these risks in the future.
