Meanwhile, Director of Public Meteorology, Andri Ramdhani, added that based on monitoring carried out by BMKG, it is known that the Kelvin and Rossby Equatorial Wave phenomena also have an impact on increasing the mass availability of wet water vapor and triggering disturbances in wind patterns which can support the growth of rain clouds.

At the same time, he said, strong local lability and the meeting and slowing of wind speeds (convergence) in several regions in Indonesia are able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth along these convergence/confluence areas.

“Therefore, in the next week, the public needs to increase awareness and early anticipation of the potential for extreme weather and its subsequent impacts in the form of hydrometeorological disasters which have the potential to occur throughout Indonesia,” he concluded.
