THE MINISTRY of Finance fully supports the proposal of the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait regarding the use of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) assets to execute the three million house program.
“Indeed, in the near future, I will meet with Pak Ara, Minister of Housing, to discuss this matter. We are of course very supportive regarding the use of BLBI land,” said Director General of State Assets at the Ministry of Finance Rionald Silaban to reporters, Bandung, Thursday ( 7/11) evening.
The Ministry of Finance, he continued, has prepared a list of BLBI assets that can be used in the three million homes program. The preparation of the list is intended so that the PKP Minister can see areas that suit needs based on distance and community interests.

“Because basically building a house also depends on people’s interest in the area. So, we are preparing a list. Mr. Ara has called me, I’m just waiting,” said Rionald.
However, Rionald, who is also the Chair of the BLBI Claims Rights Task Force, was reluctant to mention in more detail the location of the assets that would be handed over. “I have a list in several areas, we’ll see what the options are. But the point is, we really support it so that there is immediate use,” he explained.
It is known that the Minister of PKP proposed that land confiscated from corruption and assets confiscated from BLBI be used for the three million houses program. This proposal is considered relevant because the government no longer needs to spend funds for land acquisition.
Apart from that, the land that has been confiscated by law enforcement originally belonged to the state. Therefore, according to Ara, it would be beautiful if what the state owned was then given to the people. (D-2)
